Jesus, Control is Dark Souls difficult, god drat. I can't get that flying bastard to half health before he two-shots me.

edit: ah I was supposed to hide behind a pillar and take pot shots at him. Pretty lame.

Control rules. My only gripe is that enemies can be hard to distinguish and so I end up eating a rocket to the face because I can't easily parse rocket man from a regular guard. But yeah, Control rules.

I remember removing the question marks from the map in Witcher 3. Can't remember if it was a mod or not. But I've learned to ignore question marks in open world games a while ago.

Cyberpunk is going to be dope.

Witcher 3 transcended its mediocre gameplay by knocking everything else out of the drat park. Just straight up head and shoulders above anything I had played until then.

Is the DLC in AC: Odyssey worth it?

Thinking of giving it another shot since I learned you can turn off the enemy level scaling. The Gold edition is on sale + the EGS coupon would make it very cheap (under £20 for the lot).

Are you saying you tried Odyssey before and gave up? Then I would say skip the dlc and get it later on if you have a miraculous change of heart. Odyssey is a long game and the dlc is essentially more of the same.

Oh hey, Observation is no longer an EGS exclusive and is 50% off. As far as Sci-Fi walking sims go, this is a pretty good one and would recommend.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is the only game that requires me to lower my system volume (to 10%, from 100% for all other games) because 5% with the in-game settings wasn't low enough and caused some weird sound bugs to boot. The soundtrack rules and by god the devs want you to hear it.

Wait poo poo, really?! Is ME3 as good as the first two? I recall hearing that MEA wasnt very good though, but that might be me mis-remembering.
And what about Dragon Age 2 - has that aged well? drat, I might actually have to start forking cash over to EA again!

When they came out, the most vocal opinion online was that DA2 and ME3 were bad games (mainly by how they ended). Like the worst. So I guess that's the concensus.

Personally, it's been a while, but I have fond memories of both. Hell I think ME3 is great. Fun gameplay with cool characters and some story beats that hit. If you like ME2, play 3. Just don't expect Witcher 3 or whatever.

Just wanted to chime in that Grim Dawn has really good controller support.

Also a mod that imports the Titan Quest classes, so you can mix them with the GD ones. (Not sure how the itemization works for that though)

Just lol at steam chugging if you "only" have 8 gigs of RAM. Actual current video games don't have this problem.

(I have 8 gigs with ~600 games and steam runs fine)

Hey guys, looking for some recommendations for my sister. She's very new when it comes to PC gaming and her PC is sorta low-end (no GPU, i3 8100, 8gb ram). She loves games that are relaxing, heavy on narrative and/or exploration, the natural world (especially plants) and complex puzzles. Some stuff she's loved: the whole Zachtronics catalogue, Sunless Skies, Minecraft, Morels: The Hunt, My Time at Portia. Any ideas?

For puzzle games, Baba Is You is one of the best ever and probably could run on a calculator. The Witness is another and isn't too demanding (specs-wise). Both are Zachtronics-tier in both difficulty and quality.

I'm finishing up Kiwami 2, and I think the only thing it has over Kiwami 1 is the side stories, which are much better. The main plot is fine, but like Kiwami 1, it's still nowhere near as good as 0.

The new engine doesn't improve combat all that much in my opinion, just brings different problems. My #1 tip for Kiwami 2 is to spend all your money on the stuff from the drug store that reduces your hunger gauge and keep eating until you can buy all the dodge and parry skills asap, at which point the fighting goes from feeling bad to barely ok. Bosses will still auto-block all your combos, no fixing that.

I think I'm starting to get Yak fatigue like I have AssCreed fatigue.

I dug a lot of Nier 2, so I'm pretty pumped that I'll be able to experience Nier 1. Never thought it would happen. The protagonist looks intriguingly androgynous, but I'm guessing that's just the anime. The description mentions the old creative team returning, so maybe it will be a bit more than just be a straight port.

I think I entered my Steam login info to isthereanydeal.com to import my wishlist and keep it synced. They can then notify me whenever a game goes on sale somewhere, which about every 40 seconds.

Question about Battle Brothers and Troubleshooters in terms of how they handle the Tactics Game Death Spiral:

Are they more like Darkest Dungeon (in which failing a mission in a total squad wipe is a setback you need to grind easier areas to recover from, but you can't ever really lose the campaign),
or XCOM (a squad wipe likely means you will lose the campaign 10 hours later)?

I really like the nuXCOMs, but the failure spiral is what kept me from absolutely loving them. I know how DD handles it is a sticking point with many, but I sort of appreciated it. Losing sucks.
