Apparently when he filmed My Left Foot he stayed in paraplegic mode and got people to carry/wheel him around, which is pretty  . Yeah it's a bit goofy but whatever, dude gets results. I definitely get why people stick with accents throughout a shoot or at least for the day's filming, and I guess the more Method stuff is an extension thereof
