I get the joke but it's not very funny. Like way below 'Sensible Chuckle'. It's more like, "Cause one side of your lips to do an anemic half-smile".

Maybe that's how it is in this, presumable nordic, country.

Avatar land opened in Epcot and it far, far outdid Galaxy's Edge in popularity so yeah apparently so.

Avatar land is in Animal Kingdom, not Epcot, and the reason it's so popular is that the main ride is very immersive and pretty, so again, it's all visual spectacle. Food's not bad for theme park food, and iirc one Goon's wife designed the desserts for that area. They're pretty tasty.

Also, Galaxy's Edge went over like a wet fart because it was only half completed and people wanted to wait until the e-ticket ride was open to go. That ride can be completely booked for the entire day within half an hour of the park opening. And it's loving amazing.

Theres a lot of visual errors and small quirks that can occur when shooting native 3D and it limits a lot of what you can do shot wise.

Imagine having to plan your shots out.

Knowing the limits of the medium leads to superior filmmaking. This is the same reason that Jurassic Park still looks good, while Jurassic Park 3 looks terrible. Same reason practical effects look better. They decided what they wanted before filming.

Like in the next 20 years there will be tons of parody superhero movies but one day when superheroes have lost their hold on the public someone will make the one perfect dead on parody and it'll help crystalize what everyone was thinking about how dumb it all was and accelerate the end where no one wants to do anything with any super hero tropes and either stops entirely or only makes some other sort of movie that goes out of it's way to not be your daddy's superman.

WB started out doing this.

Marvel already has a healthy attitude about how ridiculous the whole thing is, and Deadpool is one of the most successful R-rated movies ever.

I'm not saying the public might not get sick of Superhero stuff, but I'm honestly in doubt that culture itself works like it did back then. People no longer have to consume what tv/movies get released, so there's less cause to burn out. They'll just watch something else.

I was thinking the other day that my little nieces and nephew will never watch a rerun because that's what's on, unless they want to. They might never watch Gilligan's Island, as an example, because that's what tbs has on at 4pm.

It's a total paradigm shift.

Within ten minutes, things became uncomfortable as we watched Bond break into a hotel room and overpower a woman in order to have sex with her. Then, of course, Pussy Galore arrives. Bond uses a series of judo moves to overpower her. He crawls on top of her, spreading her legs apart. As he tries to kiss her, she twists her face away and struggles desperately to fight him off. But, inevitably, she is beaten. Bond gets what he wants. “Ok, kids, new movie.”

This is like Harry Turtledove's series about aliens invading during World War II, where they thought the earth would still be at the medieval level from when their probes visited.

I actually think that poster might be conflating the two because I read all 4 increasingly stupid novels and I don't remember any of that.

I do remember they're put in a simulation of Doom 1 again, and they just convert the first imp they see to their side and amass an army to take down the Spider Mastermind.
