The way people talk about CGI, you'd think every blockbuster movie made in the last 25 years would be purely unwatchable. Like yeah, The Thing stuff was rushed by producers, but it's on par with a Red Planet or whatever
I didn’t particularly care for the prequel but the effects were absolutely not a part of the problem. Anybody whining about that is welcome to go watch Harbinger Down.

I saw the trailer for it and then read that it was awful and had an idiotic twist. I was all: “come on, they can’t do THAT!”. Looked it up and turns out they did. Sounds amazingly awful.
