The scene of dr strange in front of the mirror with his cape is so bad that it has been made an example of the "bathos" in marvel movies. Granted thor 3 had a bunch of that but they were quickly justified or redeemed (thor getting hit by the ball before escaping the tower)

Watched birds of prey last night and... It was pretty good? They don't bother to pretend Gotham is a dark brooding horrible city and just focus on giving the audience a fun ride, the jokes land most of the time and the visuals were kinetic, though sometimes the cherography and camerawork (especially action scenes) suffer from how fast everything was. At least two acts of violence that elicited "ohhhh" from the audience. It's nothing deep but definitely worth a watch.

I recently rewatched it with my dad, a huge bond fan, and that escape sequence after the torture scene (which even has a cat being pet!) ending with the whole facility mysteriously firebombed made us laugh. Just love how absurd that bit is. And they get a helicopter to fly off!

E: come to think of it bond chasing batista and Swann in his plane which keeps getting more and more ruined but somehow still winning was also a really funny action sequence

I think its really important to stress that Detroit is David Cages best game and thats entirely because its just merely facile and flirting with deeper ideas it doesn't grasp, instead of that but also racist, full of weird sexual violence and things like zombie loving, and undermining its own premises every chance it gets.

The best plot of the story (detective buddy cop arc) had its script rewritten by the two actors because the original was so bad. The robot kidnapping the child is all right (if not for the absolutely poo poo twist) and the revolutionary plot is just dumb as hell. You can solve the human - android conflict by singing.

Netflix is doing the whole "ONE BILLION VIEWS MOST WATCHED MOVIE EVER" thing that they did for birb box

paper thin plot, very good action sequences especially the car chase/apartment fight sequence, intense tension almost throughout the film. Worth a watch but don't expect anything nuanced.
