So is Sonic actually good or is there just nothing out for kids movies on a long weekend?

It's fine. If you like super speed jokes or Jim Carrey doing his comedy for the back row stuff you'll get a few laughs, but it's a pretty standard kids movie.

I liked Gadget and the Gadgetinis, but to be honest it was pretty much just the same poo poo from all metrics. The original show hasn't aged too well, especially the bits with the ridiculously obnoxious wannabe superhero sidekick because they needed someone dumber than Gadget apparently.

There were a few episodes that played with things pretty well, like one where the villain is after an ancient tomb said to contain the world's most powerful weapon and the source of all knowledge- and he succeeds. He finds a mouldering ancient tome and a rusty sword, and realises just then that those descriptors would have been accurate six thousand years ago.

I think Ben 10 or something did an episode like that, where the villain gets to the top of a pyramid and grabs the mega badass sword only for the blade to crumble to dust.

They basically did, what with having Kevin Conroy playing a live action Bruce Wayne and also, the whole Hall of Justice/Gleek teaser in the final episode.

Has there ever been an actual attempt at making movies out of the Dragonlance books?

It just seems odd that you have all these books and as far as I can tell all that has happened is someone made a really bad animated movie about 10 years ago.

The books aren't good and since it's D&D the license is a tangled loving nightmare.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if someone told me that the animated movie killed any interest in a live action adaptation.

Another has gone from "stunts and setpieces you've never seen before" to "stunts and setpieces you've never seen before in a Bond film" because they're playing catch-up to every other action movie.

Part of me feels like Bond should embrace the 1960's spy stuff but then it's just Austin Powers without the jokes.

I'm pretty sure the only funny part of the Ed Helms Vacation movie was the trailer pointing out reboots suck and kids don't care about the original vacation movies.
