The Big 3 was also very much a time and place situation, placed at exactly the point that anime and manga were starting to blow up in popularity in America, and the US market was relatively small in options but huge in audience, and the Shonen Jump print magazine provided a relatively affordable way to sample a bunch of different manga, obviously pushing the three series that were already getting traction in Japan.

Considering that the oneshot was like two years ago, I think that there is almost certainly going to be some differences as ideas develop more. Like I said, the one-shot seemed to prop up the horny dude as a main character along the two witches and if he was here in that context again, don't you think he'd be somewhere on the key art?

I kinda had a realization about Ichigo's motivation throughout the series. The big problem was that Ichigo kinda DID have a motivation at the beginning: He wanted to get the Hollow who killed his mom. The issue is that then he killed Grand Fisher at the end of that first arc and oops there goes his character. Like, they brought Grand Fisher back, I guess, but that's stupid/

So you remember how the power escalation in Naruto was like whack with how Naruto eventually became the reincarnation of Ninja Jesus? When Samurai 8 was cancelled, Kishimoto fuckin' speedran that escalation so the main character became like a divine AI in 43 chapters.
