e: chad vs soifon would have probably been better from a narrative standpoint than what happened since it would have built heat for her fight later in that arc. except for the part where she'd have probably killed him

I don't think Kubo wanted to immediately bring back all the soul society chars but the editors didn't immediately dig the Ichigo and vaizards stuff

Yoruichi's alive she's in the sequel novel the strange fake/doheredo guy wrote, Can't Fear Your Own World, which is surprisingly good since it has 69 guy as a protagonist instead and ichigos just not present at all.

The dark(and very publically known) secret of bleach is kubo Tite is very good at writing character moments but pisspoor at doing fight scenes. The only reason soul society works is because of the aforementioned skill and the fact Kubo actually was a talented artist before he got burnt out.

Stairmaster

it was completely unnecessary as well. A tsukishima/aizen combo would have been enough to stomp ywach and would have been amazing to see.

Stairmaster

I still think Kubo would be an amazing mangaka if he worked on a monthly schedule

Yeah just watch/read YYH and get a much better story. Bleach has good character designs, some cool powers, and maybe a half dozen actually really well done fights and set pieces but the actual story is a clusterfuck. If you're absolutely burning with unstoppable desire to read it, read up to the completion of the Soul Society arc and then just come up with your own fanfiction about how Aizen is defeated.

or just read forum quest Number None which clears the incredibly low bar of being better than the source material.

chad's backstory was about him being naturally big and strong, and his grandfather taught him to only use that strength to protect others.

instead he used it to get rich and famous, lol. kubo finished chad's transformation into yamcha as an afterthought.

what if... chad just had a rich interior life and pursued boxing as a hobby offscreen before deciding to go professional with it

Remember when Orihime kisses Ichigo goodbye and we actually see some real character development, and it seems like she's hatching some master plan to use her reality-altering powers to stop Aizen?

What ever happened to that plot thread?

Kubo got writers block and had the captains show up to hueco mundo and things went off the rails. That's my theory.

syazel is a vasto. According to a light novel he used to be as strong as long hair mask boy ichigo and was cero espada but he had a tendency to go berserk so he split into two severely weakening himself. It's briefly alluded to in the manga and anime with nel and noitoras flashback where he's a former espada then but in the present is number 8 iirc.

One of the art books has a ulquirra backstory chapter where he's a humanoid hollow who just was just birthed in this pit full of other hollows but was exiled for looking different. He accidentally broke his own mask and naturally arrancarized.

Can't fear your own world mentions that barragan is older than hueco mundo and had a compatriot who was a giant adjuchas who was strong enough to storm seireitei and the kings palace and briefly consume the soul king before getting owned and turned into a zanpakuto.

The funny thing about Gin was that his real bankai was broken as hell and if he'd used it on Aizen literally any time in the 50 years he was working with him prior to fusing with the mcguffin and becoming immortal, Gin would have killed him effortlessly and gotten his revenge.

yeah but he needed to grabs aizen's sword to secure the kill and prior to being a butterfly aizen would have immediately realized what was up if he had done that.

It's revealed in the light novel that the monk was gonna force ichigo to become the soul king after ywhac was defeated (hence the stuff about shunsui giving his friends tickets to soul society). This was averted when yhwach ate up the soul king and because after he was defeated the royal guard chopped up his corpse and made that into the new soul king. It was apparently such a hosed up process that the people who saw it were like "Oh I see where aizen was coming from". Incidentally apparently all the severed parts have become alive in some way.

Remember how Rose straight up told his enemy how to beat his Bankai and was shocked to immediately get his rear end kicked?

actually he just explained his power was warping reality with music and the wrestler guy decided that meant he could just gouge his own ears out to no-sell it. It's only because of his own wrestling powers that worked.

Did people really like Aizen? Even as a dumb high schooler I mostly just remember liking him for how obviously dumb he became.

The second popularity poll was held right after he was "murdered" and he made it to #13.

The thirst was clearly real.

That one doesn't surprise me - Aizen was easily at his most interesting back when there was actual mystery around him.

No I mean shortly after he was found dead in soul society. Everyone still thought gin was the big bad at that point.

Stairmaster

It probably would have been easier to write aizen if he hadn't had to cram the rest of Gotei 13 in there.

which is why number none is so good because the only captain with signifigant screentime in it is unohana.

it's also past the climax and we're just waiting on the author to finish the epilogue type stuff.
