The Hakuho/Enho match wasn't as ferocious as I expected, but then again, why was I expecting Hakuho to go ham against a stablemate for a non-basho event? Man, Natto’s production quality was really high too. I’m really shocked they’ve gone after him vs the other streamers who have remained untouched... for now? If I have to go back to NHK summaries I’mma be an unhappy fellow.

I'm not at all shocked they went after the Japanese guy using Japanese audio and generally putting up good production over going after the Israeli guy using basically whatever he can get that day and who's production is basically sometimes having a goofy effect on his cuts and occasionally messing with the font for his subtitles. I've said it before: I would love to pay one hundred American dollars for access to the NHK broadcasts in English or Japanese, available to stream live or watch later. If chairman Hakkaku-oyakata would like to discuss this with me, I will happily buy him an account.

Confusing people about NSK/NHK aside, yeah it would be nice if the proper NHKG channel was available globally, instead of their NHK-World channel which shows Sumo only on Sundays and only for like an hour. At least you can pay for a VPN and use Abema, even with a free vpn it's watchable.

I thought I remembered NHK World showing daily recaps at like.. 5pm EST. But I use their streaming app. And anyway, I got so used to watching Sumo first thing in the morning when I get to work that I’m not sure I can go back. Also the lack of commentary (which I can comprehend) is a blessing.
