as someone who can read kana but only a handful of kanji, it throws me when a の or ノ is in the regular shikona as i always look for the furigana over tehe characters and ignore the main ones.

Sounds like Natto’s channel got nuked again so I think Kintamayama is what we have to rely on. Really wish NHK would just embrace and publish them on youtube instead of making us wait until 5ET for the daily recap on their streaming service. I’ve been simul-watching it with friends over the past two basho and it’s a blast reacting to it together, something we can’t do on NHK.

Looks like he’s going to play the “sneaky unrelated channel name” route, given I just watched on a channel called “Justin Bieber” so.. good luck to that. I was fine with the Kintamayama vid tbh. If I didn’t have to go to effort to watch Natto’s vids I would still prefer them, but if I can’t find a Natto vid within like two click I’ll just watch Kinta’s. Also some props to my boy Takayasu today. Me drafting him yet again didn’t seem to be a death sentence on day one, so that’s positive. Non-spoiler but this was a really fun day. Lots of excitement and unpredictability. Hope this keeps up. I *prefer* Natto’s because I’m not a huge fan of the english commentary that NHK World adds, and Natto’s always have replays. Kinta tends to condense a lot, which is fine if that’s what you’re into, just not my preference. For example, the Talayasu / Takarafuji bout today would have felt so much more epic if they left the whole nearly two minute struggle in rather than condensing. Not sure how much of that is a factor of NHK World and how much of that is Kinta. Not saying Kinta’s summaries are bad, (imo) they just don’t add anything to the experience over the NHK World daily recaps except for YouTube availability, where Natto’s are a different atmosphere thanks to the direct NHK domestic feed. But I mean we’re lucky to have some choice, even if it is something we need to work to get.

Hopefully I've snuck these in before the bouts start. One of the great bits about the slow-mo replay of Tochinoshin vs. Terutsuyoshi was seeing Tochinoshin just casually slap Salt Bae across the face so hard he looked briefly like a bobble head.
