Recently made this crazy thing, which is a total departure from my usual styles. I was told it sounds like the soundtrack to a 90's training montage: https://soundcloud.com/eric-zak/loop-and-launch |

I've been really in a funk lately, and not the good kind, when it comes to music and have kind of been avoiding this thread because it makes me feel like I should be doing more, but anyway I'm glad y'all are still doing stuff. I got down to it the other day and started loving around with doing things with samples. It's what I made isn't great, but I really don't know what I'm doing with them so everything is like a chore to figure out. I had fun though. |

i’ve also been in a creative funk lately but it’s important to still try even if what you make isn’t necessarily good in any traditional sense

i think it's good to even if you don't have skill, talent, or a gleaming $5k mountain of modular gear in that vein please enjoy the last 4 things i bothered to save, in chronological order: trash beach (i like this one) sleepy leaf (this is a thing too) law and order (duh dunn) idk fuckj (this is from last night and i don't really remember doing it or purchasing/eating the cookies i found the bag from this morning but i might gently caress w/ it later? there were a lot of noises saved but not a lot of arranging done. that part isn't as fun)

(I set up some basic rules like the key,the scale, number of steps in a sequence etc then pretty much just let the music evolve) btw how do you multiquote in this place? From analog things like a dial on an amp or a pedal, or a coil of spring somehow, even just recording in a cave or the middle of the woods, to digital ways that are way more controllable like presets in Live or whatever. Just go the audio effects, scroll down to reverb, and pick one that sounds cool, or one that sounds kinda cool and add it to whatever track, or even the master mix, and gently caress around with it until it sounds more cool. |
