Big serious post / dumping ground incoming https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKlVYJTSzuU - Gloryhammer - Some great cheesy powermetal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtnG9N-BuVo - Manowar - Hand of Doom - Some great overly serious powermetal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edBYB1VCV0k - Amon Amarth - Twilight of the Thundergod - Just saw these guys live a few months ago. Great show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0D8fG63dnmM - In Flames - My Sweet Shadow - I was 15 once AND I STILL AM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epYKVcHrVr0 - Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark - Being in a stadium with 35 thousand people singing along with the opening was mad. Can't imagine what their bigger shows are like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcWKZTI9OC4 - Ronny James Dio - Rainbow in the Dark - RIP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOKoLiOkWWQ - Savatage - Hall of the Mountain King https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oogXPsnvgm8 - Rage of Light - Candyman - I have no shame. It's a trance/metal remix of Aqua's Candyman and it's amazing. If you only watch one video in 2020, watch that. Six-Of-Hearts posted:I have no shame Nothing wrong with this.

On the folk influenced theme. This is my favourite band. Scottish atmospheric black metal band called Saor. This is probably my favourite album: https://youtu.be/fk6zAiksxEQ Quite an old one, and not mixed as well as the newer ones imo. But great for sticking on and chilling the gently caress out. The title track especially is amazing. Their new album is sweet, also. (and he's writing another album at the moment): https://youtu.be/TlfK8VCuLuE And last but not least, a bit different (but with a link to the last album). Alcest, a French blackgaze band. More chilled out stuff (and their lead singer provided backing vocals for a track on the latest Saor album). Track off their latest album: https://youtu.be/69fnUZhV8SI And my favourite track of theirs: https://youtu.be/DN9eWfV1V5M which I think is just phenomenal.

His older stuff had a more retro sound with heavy organ focus. Still lots of great guest singers! (The female soloist is called Magali Luyten, apparently.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDjomu33Xzc Also check out his side projects like Star One which still falls in the progressive genre (I guess) but is slightly more straight ahead - and sci-fi themed! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y24Amw6Ik7I Hippie Hedgehog has a new favorite as of 19:12 on Jan 9, 2020 |

Sigh is one of my favorite bands. All their albums are different. This is off one one of their albums that uses "film logic". Sigh - Hail Horror Hail Holy Moses has a poo poo load of albums, they're all pretty 'meh', but Finished with the Dogs is a slab of face melting thrash the entire time Holy Moses - Current of Death Dwarr is an interesting beast. The main guy behind it had a psychotic break, found god, and burned everything. Luckily his music still circulates. Dwarr - Animals Manes, like a lot of black metal went post-black metal. They did it the right way. Manes - Death of the Genuine Back in the early-mid 2000's there was a massive resurgence in metal. Lizzy Borden joined the fun and they didn't disappointment. lizzy Borden - Appointment with Death

Bert Roberge posted:Bismuth is up there for it's wild color variations and crystalline structure when synthesized in a lab. I'd say Osmium, because it's the most-dense metal on Earth. Also because it is pyrophoric and reacts with oxygen at room and what it produces from that reaction is highly volatile and penetrates skin readily, and is very toxic by inhalation, ingestion, and skin contact. It's a super :metal: metal. EDIT: Aw, that emoticon is gone.
