Is there a way to find out when a movie will be available to rent digitally? Joker has been available for sale digitally since last month but I do not see any places to actually rent it digitally. I have tried some movie sites but they just give the date that the film is available to buy.

Usually the way it works is the film is released digitally to buy a few weeks prior to a physical release, then once the film is release on DVD/BR, it will become available to rent digitally. I just checked Amazon, and you can now rent JOKER.

"It all began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves; immortal, wisest and fairest of all beings. Seven, to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And nine, nine rings were gifted to the race of Men, who above all else desire power. For within these rings was bound the strength and the will to govern over each race. But they were all of them deceived, for another ring was made.
In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret, a master ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured all his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One ring to rule them all. One by one, the free peoples of Middle Earth fell to the power of the Ring. But there were some who resisted. A last alliance of men and elves marched against the armies of Mordor, and on the very slopes of Mount Doom, they fought for the freedom of Middle-Earth. Victory was near, but the power of the ring could not be undone. It was in this moment, when all hope had faded, that Isildur, son of the king, took up his father's sword. And Sauron, enemy of the free peoples of Middle-Earth, was defeated.
The Ring passed to Isildur, who had this one chance to destroy evil forever, but the hearts of men are easily corrupted. And the ring of power has a will of its own. It betrayed Isildur, to his death. And some things that should not have been forgotten were lost. History became legend. Legend became myth. And for two and a half thousand years, the ring passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came, the ring ensnared a new bearer.
The ring came to the creature Gollum, who took it deep into the tunnels under the Misty Mountains, and there it consumed him. The ring gave to Gollum unnatural long life. For five hundred years it poisoned his mind; and in the gloom of Gollum's cave, it waited. Darkness crept back into the forests of the world. Rumor grew of a shadow in the East, whispers of a nameless fear, and the Ring of Power perceived. Its time had now come. It abandoned Gollum.
But then something happened that the Ring did not intend. It was picked up by the most unlikely creature imaginable. A Hobbit, Bilbo Baggins, of the Shire. For the time will soon come when Hobbits will shape the fortunes of all...

I could have met Sergio Aragones at a comic con about five years back and I didn't. I've been kicking myself ever since. He probably doesn't have too many comic cons left.

Groo writer Mark Evanier told a story about how he would always make "Sergio doesn't speak English" jokes in the Groo comic, and as a result, once at a comic book store signing, the owner hired a translator to assist Sergio. Sergio, of course, speaks English wonderfully, but not wanting the translator to get fired, only spoke Spanish during the signing.

Have you ever watched an edited-for-content version of a film (for on TV, for younger ages, whatever) in which you didn't realize there were edits? I'm inspired by being on a mild Terminator kick (even if I won't ever watch the newer movies), and at some point realizing/learning that there was a lot more of Linda Hamilton is shown when she's having sex with Reese than I knew about. I remember being incredibly awkward when finding out about it, around people.

If Capone was just him losing his mind, hallucinating, and making GBS threads himself the movie would be much better. Unfortunately, I guess Trank got a note that the movie needed a plot so we have this buried treasure story that can't possibly work when Al Capone is only sometimes aware that there even is a treasure. Deming's camera work and the weird sound mixing are the only real reasons to watch it.

My mom worked directory assistance for a long time and she use to tell us about all of the insane callers and prank calls. One day she got a caller asking for the number of someone whose last name was Cocks. Not Cox, but Cocks. So she figured someone was being an rear end in a top hat but she looked it up anyway and the listing was actually there. So out there is at least one person with the surname Cocks.

I worked for a pharmacy, and the names I'd see over the course of my time there. There was one elderly couple, born in the 1930s, so it couldn't be helped then, because who knew?. But you think they had to realize the strange looks they'd get when they eventually got married, which I assume had to be in the 1950s at least.

Their names?

re: Snyder chat. Has there ever been a director who's commanded such devotion from his fans before? Like, his fans get hostile if they even perceive something as being criticism towards him.

I remember this tweet from Frank Coniff (MST3K's TV's Frank)

What causes such devotion? I love John Carpenter, but if someone says his films suck, it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
