A big problem with talking about The Anime that must not be named is it causes everyone to speculate on which anime it is.

If i remember right, there are two anime that must not be named. The first was about an elementary school girl seducing her teacher and the other involved the stupid "1000 year old demon that just so happens to look like a child" trope.

There are no doubt more that are worse, but those are apparently the worst you can get without getting as explicit as like hentai or gore porn or some poo poo.

Boku no Pico is probably worse, but again it's explicit hentai, and since that poo poo is already blanket banned in adtrw I assume it just went without saying. It's also a dumb 4chan meme to recommend it to people which is probably why a lot of people know the name from osmosis.

Now I find myself intensely curious what repercussions I can expect from naming the anime that shall not be named. I wish I had been wrong.

Neither of them were Boku no Pico. It's hentai, which fell under the hentai ban that got put into place so talking about it would get you banned anyway. The two Anime that must Not be Named were technically safe for work series that were way way way waaaay too close to child porn that discussing them would potentially have been grounds for Lowtax to get another visit from the feds. The only time they're ever brought up are when people ask "What's the Anime that Must Not be Named?".

Other than the news someone (maybe her, maybe a KF poster) opened a gofundme, there isn't really anything new in that thread. All the stuff mentioned was discussed the day his wife left.

Given that the poster only has two posts in the search history, I'm inclined to believe it's just KF trying to cause chaos.

those are a whole lot of cool dinosaur shows, huh.

but are any of them....... extreme???

The toys they put out for this show were ridiculously detailed and much cooler than the plain designs from the show. I had the figure of the triceratops as a kid. It weighed like 2 loving pounds and could seriously hurt someone if it got thrown. Which it did in my house, a lot.

We're up to $680 in and counting in reregs alone, not even including avs, tags, and people deciding to just buy new accounts.

Up to a full five pages and counting. Pretty sure that's the entire posting base of C-SPAM dusted.

C-Spam averages over 1000 posters a day, and five pages is only about two to three hundred. So I'm guessing not.

As of this post, I count $2.3k in unban fees alone.

Wait what?

Recently, mod of Trad Games, Ettin, announced he was stepping down. I don't know how healthy they are for them, but my ducks loved lettuce and cherry tomatoes.

I imagine mealworms would be good for them as well. And of course you can always just buy a bag of duck feed for them.

Also, if i remember right, he was physically incapacitated (legs cramping, unable to move) after making it 6-7 miles in three days, which has always confused me. Like, i'm fat as hell and pushing 40, but i will walk a mile 1 way for lunch at work pretty regularly, and I'm 100% certain i could do that 3 days in a row without being rendered immobile

IIRC in order for him to meet his miles-per-day quota he had planned, he would walk continuously without taking regular breaks. He didn't notice his legs were being hosed up by it because human bodies are good at (temporarily) ignoring pain from walking. Which is why most hikers take breaks even if they don't feel tired at the moment.

Most people would be fine with leaving but every time someone makes a replacement they always add a little detail that makes the whole thing fall apart. Most of the time it's because the site itself is too different from SA; the LP zone infamously failed because they thought it'd be a good idea to implement infinite scrolling. And I honestly can't make heads or tails of that bread and roses site's ui. Or it's only an offsite for just one aspect of SA like fyad or ycs or cspam or lp, etc., instead of the whole site. If someone made a site with the same moderation style, same or similar enough forum design, and had features like search and archives (two features that nearly every other big sa alternative lacks) people would probably move. It's just a matter of doing it.

Not able to join discords and zero interest in leaving these forums.

I mean if you're not buying anything and you're not subscribing to his patreon, it wouldn't exactly benefit him in any way to just keep posting. Lowtax has been detached from these forums in every way but financially, and creating content here doesn't exactly bring in any money either so might as well.

I'm a huge believer in boycotting work made by people who you believe the accusations against, but for communities it's honestly a gray area.

Most of the offsites and discords are just lifeboats not the destination. If Lowtax doesn't wanna sell and the plan to have an offsite with all the current mods goes through, most of them will join up there instead. BNR will probably stay though.
