Same but for getting LASIK the other day. I remember when I first put on glasses as a small child and was all "Holy poo poo! Trees DO have individual leaves!" and stuff, now that my eyes are healing up it's like double that. I gotta get retested in a few days but they already told me I've got better than 20/20 now and I'm feeling it, worth every cent. The level of detail in this world is incredible.

Did you use contacts at all before surgery? Wondering if it's worth doing. I have very few issues with contacts so not sure if it would be worth it.

I wore glasses (hated) and contacts (meh) for almost 15 years before getting surgery and it was hands down one of the best things I ever did, even now 15 years later.

I never met someone irl who had no problems with contacts whatsoever but I wore em for years and they're grouse. I had the daily ones which were ten bucks every 3 months after the private health gap each time but they were well worth it imo. I've been back on glasses so I bought a repair kit and that's been worth its weight so far BC I fall asleep with them on constantly and bend the arms

I wear Purevison 2s which are 30 day lenses you can sleep in. $90 gets me 6 months worth.

It's not really recommended to sleep in them all the time as they get a bit crusty in the mornings, but I just put some good quality eye drops in if that's the case. I wear glasses around the house for a week in between sets of contacts to give my eyes a break.

I'd wear glasses more but I'm horribly sensitive to sunlight and basically can't see outdoors without dark sunglasses on. I could just have expensive script sunnies but carrying two sets of glasses everywhere I go is a bit of a pain in the rear end and they're also heavy glass lenses usually which throws the balance off when you wear them.

White concrete in direct sunlight and no sunglasses means I have to walk around with one eye closes and the other open only far enough to see my eye lashes as a screen.

Never gave contacts a try, I was hopeless at stuff like keeping my glasses clean so I didn't want to risk complications from my awful habits. Most joints will assess your eligibility for free and there are options besides LASIK like implantable contacts etc, they'll tell you what would work best and what kind of outcomes you can expect. I now have greatly reduced photosensitivity, better vision than I had with glasses/better than 20/20, and noticeably improved night vision which was already fine so now it just feels enhanced. The procedure itself is all of 20 minutes and guaranteed for life. Now on a bright day I can snag a pair of $20 servo sunnies and not be carrying around two separate pairs of glasses in cases like a tool. Definitely look into it, I mean you already got the username.

I had to get glasses when I was in like grade 2 or 3 and haven't known life without. I can't see past my nose without and gently caress contacts i aint puttin nothin near my eyeballs. Some people glasses are just suited for and I like how they look so I've never even considered laser but 2 of my friends had it done in the last few years and one of them says herself she misses them the other is over joyed and said she thinks it's the best thing ever. It's pretty amazing that it can be done and I love the technical aspect of it but I think unless you really really don't like glasses/contacts blah.

I'm fairly happy just wearing glasses even if it's a pain being a woodwork teacher cause they don't really make safety glasses that fit comfortably over glasses. I don't think astigmatism is something that could be corrected with lasik and I don't want the hassle of wearing contacts

Mrs Spergo and myself decided to gently caress about with polymer clay this weekend and I figured out if I flattened the clay to about a 5c coin thickness, layered it, sliced it then stacked it alternating I could basically make a Damascus steel appearance. So I did, and I did it with two browns to make a wood look. Couple broke but I'm gonna super glue them back together onto a magnetic backing to make them into fridge magnets
