A lot of people have been apologizing to me lately, I can’t say I really understand why. They apologize, give speeches, and speak words. Why is everyone apologizing? Why do they care if they hurt me or people? Do they want to feel better? Why am I supposed to absolve people of their regret? Does this happen to everyone else? Do people constantly apologize to you? Are you Canadian? What does it mean to be ‘sorry’ in 2020... Please share your experiences and guilt. What do apologies mean to you. This is a thread to consider the concept of an apology. ‘sorry not sorry’.

In theory an apology is an acknowledgement that you know you did wrong and will work to make amends and prevent it from happening again. In reality it means that you got caught and you wish you hadn't, and while you don't regret what you did and will probably do it again, you wish the other party wasn't being such a bitch about it.
