While waiting for the magic to fully set, the purple-robed mage-priest stood back and set down her pack down on one of the empty dog cages and removed a lightweight tin canister tube with a pull-tab for opening at one end. It had runic (Gnomish?) markings on the lower end of the can, but aside from that the label had mostly faded and peeled off, so that all Honiko could read was the world "Honey." Honiko liked honey. How bad could it be? The mage inserted her finger into the metal loop of the pull-tab and curled her digit until the seal in the can popped open and the thin metal lid could be yanked free. Honiko then tossed the tin lid aside haphazardly - this wasn't the time for manners or cleanliness. Out from the thin metal canister and into Honiko's palm slid a dry, semi-stale loaf of heavy bread wrapped in a thin wax paper. She tore off the paper and bit into the crackly crust and crunched through something softer on the inside with a little bit of alarm and pulled back. It turned out the bread's heft was actually due to it being hollowed out and filled with a greasy, tangy, honeyed meatstuff on the inside. It tasted almost like chicken... Chewing the stale bread and the savory sweetened meats paired together with some satisfaction, Honiko sighed and took a swig from her water skin.
