This is definitely from an animated series, but can't remember which. There's a huge battle going on and some random goon's getting ready to fight, camera gets really close on their face and their expression starts as pissed off which then turns to surprise, then the camera pulls back and they've been beheaded and the protagonist is riding off with their head.

Feels like something from Superjail, Metalocalypse, or Primal, but it could be something else.

Sammy Davis Jr. Jr. is also in repose.
I'm thinking of a scene where a guy is waiting for a call. He has the handset in one hand, and is holding down the switch with his other. The instant the phone starts to ring, he lets go of the switch so it makes the least amount of sound as possible and answers. I don't really have any impression of what kind of movie it was, or how old, but the guy might have either been a cop or a criminal of some kind.

That's not it, unfortunately, but thanks. The guy in what I'm trying to remember is using an older landline phone, not a cell phone.

I feel like that’s a kidnapping movie trope. Ransom had a scene like that. I’m thinking maybe Proof of Life does as well?

Not a correct answer to your question, but this happens in Predator 2 when the Predator kills the leader of the Jamaican Voodoo Gangs.

I could have sworn this happens in Princess Mononoke, but I know it doesn’t. I was also thinking of Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow as it has a bunch of decapitations, but that’s not animated.

One Crazy Summer has a secondary character spending the movie trying to win a $1 million radio station calling contest and anxiously keeps the phone receiver in one hand and the switch in the other waiting for the station to call. At the end of the movie, the station finally calls him randomly and he wins the cash prize, but in his excitement he accidentally yanks the phone line from the wall and gets disconnected.

This is driving me crazy, The Descent uses a certain font for its opening credits that I know I've seen before in another movie, it's a very specific font, but I can't remember what movie.

It was used in the sequel, The Descent 2.

Yah I didn't find that specific font but I'm pretty sure it's Trajan family, which is like every movie poster in the 90s - 00s

Might not be what you're thinking of, but it does happen in Ninja Scroll. This is the only clip I can find of if, it's at 1:24.

My first instincts leaned towards Stargate or Contact, but on googling them they're not as close as I remembered. It really is irritatingly familiar, this is going to drive me crazy, too.

Yeah, JC uses the Albertus font for a lot of his credit sequences. It's used on all the signage in the original The Prisoner series, and a bunch of other stuff. Exorcist 3 uses a similar font.

That makes a ton of sense, there's a moment in the BGM of The Descent that just screams "we like Carpenter" so I bet the titles are an intentional homage

He uses the Carpenter font in Doomsday, as well. (And calls it out in the commentary track, IIRC.)
