its rather important to know if the mod was actually furious about it or if they are being portrayed that way by someone who is themselves the furious party

the thing about the internet that millenials do not understand at all is that it used to be that not every site was tied to social media and there used to be a genderless and practically anonymous internet. when you got bored of overusing "they" you might refer someone as "he" the same way you would refer to every dog or dinosaur or microbe as a "he" and it wasnt intended as a slur other than assuming anyone nerdy enough to use the internet was probably a guy
a site like stack overflow seems like its intended purpose is as far from social media as you can get

is by and for all i know if they were answering a question about SQL it would be inappropriate for me to use the expression "this guy gets it" because i would have neglected to look up their personal info before talking/referring to them

that sucks. bring back anonymity to the internet (the non-social media part anyway)
it should be a rule that you cant break anonymity unless youre willing to actually meet in person (and create goon meet memories you will treasure forever)

oh dude a lot of them are smart and think critically about what theyre reading and never fall into the trap but that culture is massively accepting to the notion that they are smarter than other people and thus superior and accepting that train of thought easily leads soon after to a conclusion about race inequality. and tangentially they get wrapped into all the right-wing stuff and disagree with climate change and such and such
so not all of them but the professional computer touchers that suck suck really hard

and the lovely programmers never realize from their job performance how dumb they are so even step #1 on that path was unjustified :psyduck:
