MJeff posted:Wwwwwhat the gently caress happened? he dealt with numerous serious health issues and surgeries over the past two years and seemed to have been in the hospital more often than not in recent months. it's awful that this wasn't particularly shocking especially given his young age. https://twitter.com/ifyouseekcasey/status/1014906027664396288?s=20 https://twitter.com/ifyouseekcasey/status/1293920053600096258?s=20

It was extremely rough the last year for him. There would be long periods of silence followed up with bad news or surgery news or both, followed by a small smattering of normal posting. He posted the intestine tweet and a photo of himself where he looked like he'd gained a lot of weight, I'm guessing water weight from fluid intake. I was hoping he'd pull through because he was so funny and so good at what he did. It's a tremendous loss for the industry and the world, but I am glad he can finally rest.

Apparently Ralphus died last year. Joey Janela was on a radio show with a guy who turned out to be his nephew. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7T80D69AEs&t=3060s

lol we just watched "Class Action Park" on HBO Max and Chris Gethard was one of the people they talked to and he spent the movie talking about going to the park as a teen in the 80s. He was born 1980.

He took chops to the chest, collapsed in the ring and then died from a heart attack? Holy poo poo. 26 years old.

Yeah, if you're hit just in just the right spot of the chest at juuuuust the right time, it can throw off your cardiac rhythm. It killed some lacrosse goalies in the late 90s and early 2000s as I was playing, and prompted some changes in chest protectors. It's a one-in-a-million thing but yeah, terrifying poo poo.

It’s called commotio cortis. It’s more common in young men because of bone development timing.

Aw, I always liked his run in ECW with the FBI. It was the most insane bullshit, a bunch of Italian stereotypes and then Tracy Smothers from Nashville Italy, not changing anything else about himself

I mainly remember Tracy Smothers for carrying around the confederate flag or wearing a jacket with the confederate flag on it. He passed away very young like many wrestlers. I hope one day the majority of wrestlers can live full lives.

Tracy Smothers was a proud member of the Smothers Brothers comedy dynasty, and also a racist.

After the show, legit KKK duders told Tracy don’t worry, they’d take care of him. Tracy talked them down and told them to let him settle it in the ring. The south, everyone

KungFu Grip posted:a lot of wrestlers liked his in ring and promo work even if the dude worked way too long More than that, working with Tracy in places like IWAMS was a huge influence on a lot of young indie talent who went on to be much bigger names; guys like Hero, Punk, Cabana, Jacobs, Shelley, Chucky T. 58 is no age to die.

First indie show I ever went to had Tracy on the card and he was an absolute hoot. I didn't know many wrestlers on the card, but I sort of knew Tracy and decided to be as big a mark as possible for him during his match. Was a ton of fun screaming my head off for a 55 y/o Tracy Smothers' hot tag. After his match, you could just see him up off the side of the stage hosing himself down with a spray bottle for a mini shower in his trunks??? He gave me a hell of a first-time indie experience and this is a bummer. Seems like everyone's got a Tracy Smothers story about how he helped them or just something funny. Probably my favorite of the bunch https://twitter.com/EFFYlives/status/1321477831499653122
