Got middling reviews which makes it even dumber than they pushed it out instead of either sitting on it or putting it on VOD.

makes me sad... going back and watching nolan's earlier stuff and it's not even close.

He’s never done the actual sculpting work.

But McF Toys has been in an odd place for years. Recently they’re coming back a bit. I got one of their newest Spawn figures and it was really well made and well articulated, but not as well sculpted as it used to be.

Also I think all the best sculpture left for NECA and other companies. So it’s a totally different team.

when you compare this crap with stuff that recently came out for kojima for example, it's completely night and day.

just feels like a terrible cash grab and doesn't really give me any comfort regarding the film.

Well nothing is sacred. The issue of course being disgracing shai-hulud into a sock puppet Leto II.

don't worry, body pillows are next.

I thought this was really bad. Somehow, despite taking 2h30m for only half of the first book, it feels woefully incomplete and thin. The story ends at a weird point that's supposed to mark a turning point for Paul, but which barely works in the larger arc of the film. And so many worldbuilding details are left out... Important ones that make the characters and plot richer. I understand why you don't want to infodump science fiction world-building factoids on your audience, but let's face it, the books never had an amazing plot... they mainly just present a series of complex conspiracies and prophecies within a richly detailed world. If you try to only present the events of the story and skip the quirks and details, Dune is pretty dull!

you're not the only one... sadly dissapointed by the film. it's not bad, but... it ain't great. one of his weaker films for sure, which makes me sad as i was really looking forward to this.
