I was just browsing a Dune wiki and stumbled on what I guess is an unmedicated schizophrenic who wants to invoke Templar law and take over the franchise so he can save it.

Eh, there is more than enough good and awesome things about Lynch Dune that makes it worth seeing. Some of the performances, many of the visuals, the creed/chant of the human computers that Lynch wrote in as shorthand to understanding what was up with the goofy haired eyebrow dudes, all cool.

While seeing it also make note of all the poorly crafted, poorly chosen or straight-up stupid ideas that also make the film and wonder how many people involved in the production realized they were working on the same movie.

That was made up just for the Lynch movie as a clever info dump so the viewer understands what the weirdo sipping juice is up to. No reason for it to be in this movie at all.

fuckmaybe I'm just on stoned but I think they shose that particular Floyd song because "all that is now and all that is gone and all that's to come" mirrors the kwitsach haderach's total knowledge of human history and "everything under the sun" is a "it is a dessert lol"
