The cold lighting would make sense IF that lighting was just in the dystopia and everything was warm in utopia-land, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I'm still going to watch this garbage and the trailer was better than the last one

While looking at the information Plex displays, I noticed there's cast listings for Jason Alexander as Doctor Noum, Daveed Diggs as Commander Tysess and Jameela Jamil as Ensign Ascencia Any bets on if that's from the inevitable "finally meeting up with Starfleet" or "Chakotay's crew"?

The trailer looked fine, aside from the modern day stuff that I’m really hesitant about.

Are they that pricey though? Jason Alexander was on The Orville before it had Hulu money and the last thing I saw Jameela Jamil in was a few episodes of Ducktales

So... Guinan convinced the 24th Century Starfleet Engineers at the Galaxy-Class Design Project and Utopia Planitia Shipyards to include a forward facing lounge area specifically on deck 10 because one time, hundreds of years in the past, she worked at a bar called 10 on Forward Street? Now I want to know what really important thing was actually suppose to go in that spot... sensors? A forward facing torpedo launcher and magazine for the saucer section like on the Constitution class? Guinan, does the saucer section not have Torpedos because you wanted to relive a Cheers fantasy?? If the writing was good it would be a hint that not everything is what it seems or something But it's Picard so no, it's just fanservice that doesn't actually serve the fans

Honestly the only thing that I am worried about in there is the Borg queen. I'm done with the Borg. They were cool and then Voyager happened. First Contact was it, we don't need to see them again. The only Borg thing that could have been interesting would be if season 1 had been Picard, Seven, and Hugh fighting for the rights of ex-Borg in an extremely heavy handed Star Trek style refugee metaphor but they didn't do that. It seems like the alternate fascist Federation may have defeated the Borg and has the queen in a prison for ?? reasons. That altered painting of the Enterprise looks like it's loving up a couple cubes.
