So basically no useful info yet. Well if you throw out all the 10s and 1s it looks good. You could even throw out the 9s.

Re: RLM Re:view... I generally like (and agree) with them but this was a bigger hitpiece than what that future interviewer attacked Picard with. And terribly less effective. They went way out of their way to not just pan it, but outright poo poo all over it and they didn't do it well at all. No idea what bugs crawled up their butts, but if RLM can't tear something apart enough to convert you from loving it to hating it, no one can. TL;DR: Picard good, and RLM are gettin' too for their own good.

Watching ep 2 now. I'm noticing (and am pleased by) a lot of the soundtrack being reminiscent of Caprica. I feel more than fairly sure that's not a coincidence. It's got strong shades of nostalgia, which suit a spinoff well, whether a sequel or a prequel. FE: Not the opening theme, mind you (which may or may not be a coincidence), I mean the incidental music.

My take is that STP was a disjointed and poorly executed show that nevertheless had many enjoyable moments. I don't regret watching it but otoh I'll likely never re-watch it because I know it just never really comes together, therefore a second viewing is p much a waste of time that could be much better spent.

I can be very forgiving of a new show's flaws, and I pretty much enjoyed Picard enough to not regret watching (though I'll likely not re-watch it), but yeah... that whole scene just pissed me off with its nonsensicality. In fact I'm hard pressed to think of a scene I hated more, atm.

In the spirit which you asked, no it's really not. But if you sometimes enjoy hatewatching, you just might love it. Also it does have really great isolated moments here and there and a few great characters (Michael is not one of them, but Christopher Pike definitely is), so a hatewatch would at least be rewarded with that.
