Isn't this a literal tracing of some Lord of the Rings battle?

To be more precise, it's a tracing of several different shots from Return of the King and Fellowship of the Ring. The Mumakil is obvious, The soldiers are Gondorians from the scene where the trolls break down the city gate. In the close up foreground the "artist" accidentally traced Rohan spears (the ones with the holes in the blade) instead of the Gondorian spears used by the soldiers in the mid ground. Behind the front line we see some human soldiers from The Last Alliance from the prologue of Fellowship of the Ring. And finally in the center background we have Gamling. Who is shooting his bow and arrow at the underside of a Mumakil from right before Theoden gets killed. But he was traced without context so he is shooting his bow at an empty sky in the opposite direction of the Sith army.

There's some footage you can find on youtube or whatever of various unused takes where a Wampa crashes through a wall Kool-Aid man style to attack the Rebels.

Why was there never a Star Wars Kart Racer? Episode 1: Racer is a 10/10 F-Zero style "Future Racer" but we never got the Mario Kart ripoff we deserved where Darth Vader chucks a Holocron at Admiral Ackbar's head while they jump a ramp over the Sarlaac Pit.

I always thought his name was just “Quill” since that’s how they say it on the show. Should have known better than to assume regular spelling in Star Wars.

I dunno making the A-Wing the ship that’s good at ramming into things to blow them up just sounds like the designers cared about being faithful to the movies.

Speaking of space tanks, one SUPER overlooked Star Wars Tank I always liked is the unnamed Rebel Tank that only appeared in the original Rogue Squadron on the N64. It's so obscure that it doesn't even have a name. Can you imagine it, a Star Wars vehicle that doesn't have a complete development history, serial number, name, and manufacturer! The only images of it that exist are this extremely blurry screen cap from wookiepedia and a single piece of low quality fan art

In addition to a forward facing big laser and a 360 degree turret with AA capabilities, it also doubles as an APC. You work alongside a couple to escort a convoy of transports , and then later provide air cover for a company of them when they assault an Imperial Base. If you unlock the secret AT-ST level, you can even fight one, but only if you first blow up a Rebel bunker, letting the troops that flee from it reach the tank, and have destroyed the shuttle it would take off from. It will kill you in like 2 seconds.

Shipping cargo isn't about self-sufficiency or lack thereof, it's about whether the people in a spot have the money to provide a good market for imports. So many Star Wars stories end up being on the outer rim on poor or crime-ridden worlds that aren't likely to get many bulk freighters stopping over. The best example of this is Tatooine, the most-revisited planet.

Other places that don't have much in the way of import demand are undeveloped worlds like Endor (especially when the second Death Star was being built secretly near it) or a world that was being blockaded like Naboo. Maybe there should've been more traffic around the mining town/luxury resort of Cloud City.

Cloud City was actually supposed to be a pseudo secret operation. Lando talks about trying to remain unnoticed by the Empire and big mining consortiums. Vader’s whole leverage over him (besides death) was the Empire moving in.

re: ship chat. With how much the pilots talk about sensors and such I headcanon it as those orange visors they all wear are fancy AR sets that basically give them those 360 cockpits from Gundam.

drat that’s amazing for 78. Obviously I’m glad they stayed physical since ESB and RotJ look so good even today because of it, but it is pretty mind blowing they could get something that good looking so early.

I’ll defend Matte paintings till the day I die and unironically think we’ve suffered from their loss.

if ur talking about kotor that had the usual "press x to be nice press y to be mean" but at the end of the day it was wotc's then-current ttrpg engine under the hood and more time was spent throwing grenades and flying speeders than picking whether u'd be snarky or nice to the jawa

Hey! I resent that accusation! Sometimes you could also “press B to say I’d rather not get involved”.

Armada is legit the only way to get an accurate and good, sometimes any, model of tons of important ships that you’d think would have had some kind of model over the last 40 years that isn’t an off model 1 centimeter long micro-machine. If you want something of any of the Rebel Fleet from RotJ you pretty much have to get it from Armada.
