I know it was Kevin J. Anderson but Darksaber was a great and hilarious book where the good guys didn't have to do anything because the Hutts are such greedy fuckups that they took a bunch of shortcuts and hired lovely shoddy workers so their big weapon never fired. sorry spoilers for a decades old non canon book
