Starlings are so loud, and I love them so much. They take these huge noisy group baths full of squawking and splashing, and it delights me to no end to watch them.

Being able to bathe regularly is really important to them. Researchers allowed one group of starlings to bathe, and prevented another group from doing so, then sent them flying through an obstacle course that required a lot of agility to avoid hitting hanging obstacles. The starlings that hadn't bathed were significantly less agile in the air.

My favourite birds are ones that look like muppets, like the potoo.

When I feed the local rooks peanuts, they will not stop to eat them but will frantically scoop them up using their beak like a shovel until their face/throat is full of peanuts and they look like feathered hamsters. Then when they can't fit another peanut in without losing some, they fly a bit away to slowly disgorge then eat their stash in relative privacy.
