7.5 - 8.5/10 Working on a cool, high profile project in my field of study, living in Japan on the company dime, and currently eating Strawberry Pocky. But also cripplingly lonely, and hurtling towards my mid 30's with no wife or kids, and an ever-increasingly vanishing hairline.

Unemployed but partially by choice because I'm getting out of a toxic career as a chef (seriously kids don't pursue this). I'm feeling sick but its maybe just late onset hangover. Have a new kitten, a nice place, health (generally), and a loving partner so I'm still giving it a 8 out of 10.

Probably a 0/10 if I’m being honest or like 6/10 if you compare to how bad it could be to be a prisoner in Syria or something theory or something but about as bad as it’s ever been basically at least in my life

On one hand, house shopping sucks, I'm effectively unemployed until June because the economy is making GBS threads itself, I have a bit of a migraine, and seasonal depression is doing its seasonal depression things. On the other hand, my wonderful fiance soon to be husband is sleeping peacefully upstairs, he makes enough money that neither of us have any outstanding debt and buying a fixer-upper is actually a feasible thing for us to do, I just found out yesterday that it's relatively cheap for me to become a licensed electrical contractor in this city which would open up an entirely new income stream, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through getting 100% completion in Sayonara Wild Hearts.
