In an uncertain world and things going crazy, rack this up there with things I'd never thought I'd see as a headline... WTF. If the allegations turn out to be true, dude needs a little more than just a time out from society. https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/ex-ama-superbike-champ-mat-mladin-accused-of-child-sex-crimes/

Virtual MotoGP run last night, very entertaining: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp9wpD_wyUY Impressed it's on youtube and not behind the motoGP paywall.

I assume the youtube rehost is some mix of drawing in gaming people and easing server load. personally I'm rewatching 06 gonna watch laguna seca soon

Huh, the rider animations actually look pretty good in the official game series nowadays. I remember having a look at it a few years ago and it was just terrible. Also lol at most of them subtly tilting their heads and bodies back and forth IRL as they go through the corners.

I'm almost through with my rewatch of 06 for the first time since I saw it live, definitely worth it. Trying to decide what to watch next; preferably a season I didn't watch so I can scratch out 06-08 and 17-19. I was thinking 11-12 but I don't think they're really well regarded at all. 02-05 seem iffy maybe 2014 or 2016?

the paradigm shift posted:maybe 2014 or 2016? I'd watch 2013 or 2015. In both 2013 and 2015 the title wasn't decided until the last race and both had late season drama that had a significant effect on it's outcome. 2014 on the other hand is just one rider dominating the entire field for most of the season.

Or 2000 Superbikes season. Hell I think EVERYTHING was good in 2000. Supersport probably owned too.

okay so definitely 2004 and 2015 I'll have to poke around and see what I can dig up of 2000s races. mostly I'm just watching the old ones at work, because for some reason I'm essential, and using videopass and it only goes back to 2002.

The wheeling and dealing don't stop just because no one is racing: Espargaro to join Marquez at Honda in 2021, they plan on pushing Alex Marquez to LRC Honda, but the only person they could really push out is Cal... https://us.motorsport.com/motogp/news/motogp-shock-pol-espargaro-to-join-marc-marquez-at-honda-in-2021/4801635/ Danilo Pettruci is out at Ducati: https://us.motorsport.com/motogp/news/petrucci-confirms-ducati-exit-aprilia/4800239/ Which makes the way for Jack Miller to move up to the factory team: https://www.motorsport.com/motogp/news/miller-ducati-works-seat-2021/4797165/ Millier leaving Pramac allows Jorge Martin to go there from KTM: https://us.motorsport.com/motogp/news/ducati-signs-martin-millers-pramac-replacement/4800998/

The full Honda support thing was interesting; does that make him effectively a 3rd Honda factory bike? I dunno what level of support the LCR team gets.
