Imagine trying for years to get on Survivor only to get to spend a few hours on the beach and being removed from the game by a schoolyard pick. Well...at least the still (probably?) got the appearance fee?

I know they had kicked around the idea of filming domestically somewhere instead of going to Fiji, and they had a cast and theme lined up for season 41...so they might still be in business
