I am pulling up to the drive through, I hope Popeye offers livers and gizzards. But I don't have my hopes up.

The biscuit was soaked through, the box that the tenders & fries came in was so soggy I couldn't hold it, and the only thing that saved the tenders (which were ice cold) is that most of them were curved in a way that didn't cause the Coke soup at the bottom of the box to touch them. I still had to microwave them though. i have ordered GrubHub probably hundreds of times at work and not once have i ever received my drink IN the bag. what the gently caress is going on here. why would they put the drink in the bag? who is putting drinks in bags? If your biscuits aren't perfectly-moist little nuggets of butter and salt, that means your Popeyes hosed them up

They are wonderfully buttery and salty (but not too salty). The flavor is there, but why them shits so flat and dense? Roll of Aldi biscuits out the can where you have to break their teeth against the countertop like you're the bad cop... those have the proportions and texture of an actual biscuit. Popeyes biscuits are super flat and dense. They do not taste bad, and I love scooping up the rice and beans with them. But they are objectively bad biscuits.

i’ve only had the spicy kind and it was really good. i think it needs the spice to round out the flavor profile.

If you don't like any spicy things don't get the spicy, but it definitely tastes better IMO

Is everyone elses Popeyes super busy all the time or just mine? Cuz when this Covid poo poo popped off, the lines for Popeyes has always been 15+ cars deep 24/7 365. We found if we order to go, we can show up and bang on the door and leave with piles of chicken while the rest of the schlubs sit in their cars wondering what voodoo we just did.

I live in Seattle now where there's like a death of chicken places, so the 2-3 Popeye's in the city is always busy by default. Went to one the other week right after it opened and it was a dozen cars long. Back in the South though, there's so many chicken places, I rarely go to Popeye's unless desperate or lazy.

I've been to Heaven Sent one time, it was good but soon it got closed down and the only location left is all the way on the north side. Ugh.

Had the Popeye's spicy chicken sandwich again, it was good but I think I just like getting some spicy chicken tenders with blackened ranch better instead. e: The best sandwich form for fried chicken is on a biscuit sean10mm fucked around with this message at 15:54 on Dec 17, 2020 |

As a follow up to our McDonald's nugget eating challenge, my friends want to do Popeyes chicken sandwiches. Its been a long time since Ive had one so I don't really remember how big they are. How many is too many for one sitting? 5? 6?

They're chonky sandwiches. Also, go spicy for extra

The sandwich is great but I don't actually like their spicy sauce that much, Wendy's got em there.

In a choice between the Wendy's and Popeye's spicy sandwiches, I'll eat em both.

We're ordering six each but I don't think anyone is gonna do all of them. But we'll try

For all the trumpeting people do about taco bell, Popeyes is the only fast food restaurant where overconsumption really fucks me up. Some time last fall I had too much fried chicken and maybe some shrimp and I was in so much pain the next day that if I hadn't already had it removed I might have thought I had appendicitis. Didn't eat for like two days after

Popeyes was my high school fast food job back in the early 90s. You’d think that spending that much time among the grease would turn me off, but gently caress no, I love that poo poo. The thing i see as the difference between bomb rear end chicken and a sad soggy mess is the hold time. Always get the chicken right out of the fryer. If you can see the rack where they have the chicken, ask for it specifically. Otherwise they’ll do last cooked first out. You can tell by the color too. As it sits and absorbs the grease it gets darker in color. Red beans and rice is the best side. A close second is Cajun rice if you can get them to add gravy.

I went on a binge of cheap Chinese food and had it inflamed.
