I like overwatch and I like watching much better people than me execute it with a lot more skill and coordination than I'll ever get to experience. Once you have a decent grasp of the game and the heroes and their abilities, I don't believe the play is too complex for average viewers (me) to understand. The casters do a decent job (in general) of explaining why pushes succeed/breakdown, in the limited time they have to actually draw lines and do replays between teamfights. People should rarely be left scratching their heads. It's like when NFL casters break down where a route was run or mistimed, or a coverage was missed or where a block didn't occur to explain why a play worked/didn't work. And all us couch potatoes who can't hurl a 60 yard bomb in a perfect spiral get it even if we can't do it.
