(I fear it is a ticking time bomb but who knows) Teams have been playing televised spring training games with no fans. I think the plan right now is to start on April 10th. They play games Tuesday through Sunday. Generally every Monday off. Weekdays games start at around 6:00pm weekend games are mostly all day games that start at noon. So 5am on the east coast 2am on the west coast on week days and 11:00pm/8:00pm on weekends.

I doubt NPB is going to start soon/play for long now. One team had a pitcher come down with COVID19 and the day after they postponed the Olympics, Tokyo new infection numbers shot up by 4x.

So I did some sluthing and found the first MLB game I ever went to. It was June 1992 Cubs@Pirates. 3 Rivers Stadium. It is one of two games in the 3 game series. The middle game I was 100% not at. (Greg Maddux pitched 8 innings and won the game. I know the one I watched had the Cubs lose.) I saw the Cubs lose, but saw super stars such as... Sandburg Grace Dawson Bonds And for some reason Steve Buechele who was a nobody journeyman who I though was great in 1992.

Oh boy basebal until November. I am getting hyped. I think I am going to start a NPB thread tommorow. "Season starts June 19 Each team will play 120 games The Central League is scheduled to finish on November 11, and will NOT be holding a playoff (Climax Series). The Pacific League will hold a playoff for only the 1st and 2nd place teams. It will be a 4 game series with a 1 game advantage for the 1st place team. The team to reach 3 wins first will advance to the Nippon Series. The PL Climax Series is scheduled to begin November 14"

In the Japan series you have to win 4 games. So if the series is tied after game 7 they play game 8. Still tied game 9 and so on... In other news I am at my son's first practice here in Japan. Feels good to hear bats and gloves and stuff.

Why is America so afraid of the tie? I mean in NPB you only get 3-4 ties per team in 140ish games. Do they still do a shoot out in MLS? Did NHL change too? I haven't watch either sport for like 20 years.
