I fuckin love Emo My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Thursday, The Used, Dashboard Confessional, The Early November, Sunny Day Real Estate, The Get Up Kids, Saves The Day, Coheed & Cambria, The Alkaline Trio, Blink 182... not all of these bands are Emo bands, but all these bands HAVE released an Emo record. incredible. ---------------- |

I think it's like the first or second Fall Out Boy album that has a song where, at the end, it sounds like he starts reading this piece of teenage poetry and it gets angrier and angrier and the guitars start feeding back and he gets more dramatic until it reaches a cacophony of teen angst I always laugh at that one 'cause it's too real. |

the best thing about Emo is going to shows and working out your bullshit in the pit, and the BEST is when there are like football players or other huge dudes to mosh with and everyone is curt and respectful and everyone always helps the skinny twerps and the tiny girls get back up on their feet so no one gets hurt  one time I went to go see Thursday in Allentown, PA and the mosh was amazing and afterwards these two huge bros came up and got my email and we coordinated two other shows to go to just to mosh together again. community ---------------- |

It's all about rites of spring, one last wish, in this life-era articles of faith, embrace, lots of the other dischord stuff from that era. Another favourite of mine is reds is:means, picked it up because I liked the cover art and it turned out to be a great record. If you like the skramzier style ala Orchid then my hard recco is Funeral Diner - Underdark, it's one of the best screamo records ever made imo. |
