If it's so great, why didn't you loving stay there and stop jacking up everyone's costs???? Arghhh

Yeah I'd love to break into real estate for that reason. Would be nice to get a nice stock of properties going, especially commercial becuase I feel like renters take better care of their businesses than they do their rental homes. But it's expensive as all gently caress here (yeah yeah, I know someone is gonna tell me all about how the bay area is sooooo much worse, stfu)

Being a landlord still requires work I guess, but if the guy that owns my office building is any indication, it's not that tough. Dude just shows up and uses the gym in the basement, walks around and makes sure the place isn't trashed, and anything

The scam is called "consulting"

Basically you sell the poo poo out of yourself to whatever network you can, you provide some amount of work that you can complete in less than an hour but claim it takes more. Then you get paid for it.

Take a week of actual productivity in an office or job or industry and think to yourself "could I do this entire week's work in less time than I spend at this loving office?" and if you can, try and do it as a consultant. Then charge them for a full workweek, and gently caress off most of the time while you spend a little bit of time everyday or just work one day.

Mathematically, you can go to an office and receive 1 salary and complete 1 weeks worth of work over the course of a week, but 80% of your time is spent posting or doing whatever but you still need to pretend you're working. You can instead offer 2 weeks worth of work, actually work 2 of the 5 days in the week and receive somewhere between 1 and 2 salaries for doing so, as a consultant. Then spend 3 of the 5 days jerking off or whatever.

If you're really good at talking/doing things, you can spend almost the entire week doing absolutely nothing and get paid for it, knowing it's all automated for you.

I actually do this and it's pretty rad. Well, I have a full time gig and a design consultation gig that I can fit into the free time of the other job so I still have decent work/life balance.

It is absolutely legit. The problem is when they get caught because they didn’t screen the code at all, and it contains comments or something written in a language you don’t speak.
