Biohazard posted:Likely true in part here. Lots of rich texas oil money kids come here. And Californians. Seriously, those fuckers are everywhere now, and just love to tell you where they came from, why you really should care because they're so cool and that they love how outdoorsy/affordable/chill it is where they've immigrated to but that Cali/Texas is still WAY better. If it's so great, why didn't you loving stay there and stop jacking up everyone's costs???? Arghhh full disclosure: lived in Texas, no longer there

ive been working in the business units of telecom companies for awhile and one of my friends/former coworkers got a job working major/enterprise accounts at some obscure company, except the territory she inherited from the last person exceeds her monthly quota on its own currently...by a substantial margin so she's just bought a few new houses and been in europe while also working another job(s) lmao ahhh and i really made fun of her for doing like ~80 job interviews this summer

Blockade posted:Some people don't work and get money just by owning things like landlords and trust fund morons. Yeah I'd love to break into real estate for that reason. Would be nice to get a nice stock of properties going, especially commercial becuase I feel like renters take better care of their businesses than they do their rental homes. But it's expensive as all gently caress here (yeah yeah, I know someone is gonna tell me all about how the bay area is sooooo much worse, stfu) Being a landlord still requires work I guess, but if the guy that owns my office building is any indication, it's not that tough. Dude just shows up and uses the gym in the basement, walks around and makes sure the place isn't trashed, and anything Biohazard fucked around with this message at 17:06 on Feb 13, 2020 |

The problem is when they get caught because they didn’t screen the code at all, and it contains comments or something written in a language you don’t speak.

1. web development 2. "management" "consulting" 2*. chicago police 2**. aldermannic staff 2***. day traders 3. real estate 4. stage 3 funded startup, no MVP, no customers 4*. dive bartender 5. gig based workers 6. people in child care 7. people who "homeschool" or "no-school" their kids 8. people who teach at charter schools All of these people take up room at any cafe on the overserved north/northwest sides of chicago. I worked in one of the most maligned industries (options exchange) and I still found these people more bankrupt, "bootstrap" extolling, complaining about a black pedestrian they saw had new jordans on, or a nicer phone than theirs, etc., etc.
