Yes, the hero sneaks about the villain's flagship and instead of killing him for being a big dumb dipshit, she has very really raucous hate sex with him. It is the best scene in the movie because Eva Green and Sullivan Stapleton are actually allowed to act against one another instead of just staring off into the middle distance commenting on eachother's character's battle tactics so the movie actually comes alive for a very brief moment. And then it goes back to sleep till its finished its runtime.

Rise is the first one. I think Dawn, the second one, is definitely the best of the three, but they're all definitely entertaining.

It feels like they'd be classics if they were 10 or 15 years younger. The mix of blockbuster visual imagination and heavy-but-not-particularly-challenging politics feels of a piece with 90s SF like Cameron; a decade and a half later it just feels somewhat derivative. However, their central appeal - Shakespeare-light that uses the uncanny valley effect for horror and questions of what "humanity" means - wouldn't have worked before about 2010.

I really do enjoy them and want more people to enjoy them, but also I think the somewhat muted reaction that they got was the correct one.

The second one is the best. I'd post ChimpOnHorsebackWithMachineGunsAkimbo.gif but imgur is making GBS threads the bed for me right now.

The third one is kinda weird with its Chimp Jesus theme but not bad overall, however lol that the one albino ape is Ape Judas.

they literally built it off of the exodus

i started laughing at a deeply inappropriate moment because i was like “hes gonna die before entering the promised land isnt he. theyre really gonna do it” and then he died and i laughed in the theater

Isn't "Rise" and "Dawn" kinda the same general idea?

Speaking of, pretty hosed up they called it "Dawn of the Dead" when they could have called it "Rise of the Dead" cause that's actually what happens IN THE MOVIE

The last good entry in the Terminator franchise was Terminator: The Ride at the Universal Studios theme park

everything after that has been garbage

The best thing about Terminator now is the dickswinging meta game of how each new movie or TV show tries to erase the previous instalment from existence. They really should have stopped at T2. It was kind of the perfect movie already.

The thing is though, until Genisys, they kinda tried to keep some kind of continuity. Salvation follows up with John's not-girlfriend from 3 and stuff, and the TV show gets the breast cancer thing also from 3.

Hate to say it but Rick and Morty def had the best riff on Terminator and how long running franchises involving time travel inevitably eat themselves up their own asses
