ok I fixed the clock. had to set the system to use localtime. also fixed sound. pulseaudio was defaulting to the wrong sound device. I had to edit a configuration file to change it. linux.

op, you should just install windows 10 and put it on the slow ring for wsl2. it'll be much more pleasant to use and there will be working drivers for everything.

Every time I boot Windows it has completely forgotten how I configured my audio devices and tries to play audio via the monitor port of my microphone, while resetting my microphone volume so nobody can hear me until I go three levels deep through menus in two different window styles until I find the volume slider and turn it back to 100.

no he's right, sound sucks on windows. the only reason people poo poo on linux and sound so much is because they have a collective memory on how ubuntu prematurely introduced pulseaudio for everyone before anything was ready for it.
