Speaking of manga readers I've been relying on TachiyomiJ2K to pull links from Mangadex and it works pretty great on my Kindle Fire 8 HD. It's insane how in 2021 to think I can read a 35 vol manga series over a weekend compared to the days I'd camp at the local B&N for a few hours back in 2009.

Tokyopop is terrible about announcing their new licenses so people have taken to stalking amazon to see what gets added for preorder: Would You Like To Be A Family? The title story in this is super cute, and I know that because it was also licensed by Futekiya. So this is notable in that something with a digital-only release via one publisher is also getting a print release from another one, meaning there's a chance for other stuff Futekiya is publishing to get picked up for print elsewhere.

It's a pretty cute single dad BL at least as far as I've read, has kind of what I'd describe as porno pacing though since it's pretty smutty and they dont't waste any time getting to that part lol.

First chapter of Kosuke's Flight Plan is free til Friday (3/12) I'm reading this one and like it quite a bit. The job setting of the airport is interesting, especially with the mc being a dispatcher rather than the more "glamorous" job of pilot (although the love interest is). It feels pretty grounded, and I like the characters' interactions as they go from friends to lovers.

For the ones that aren't MXTX adaptions...I've only watched one episode of Antidote so far, it hasn't quite hooked me yet but does seem interesting (and is at least not cgi lol). Also I feel like I've seen a bit of Legend of Exorcism, at least a pv or something because the little creature in the promo visual looks familiar, but I don't really remember anything about it as far as whether or not it was worth watching. I've made attempts at Spiritpact but also haven't really been able to get into it. Some of those aren't out yet so I'll update the OP with info on them at some point. Got a little more info on 6 Lovers since clips of it are floating around -- It seems to be fully animated, *not* a motion comic like I was afraid of Each chapter is ~5 minutes so they're more like little teasers for each manga, which makes sense since they were made as a promo for the Dear+ 20th Anniversary (which was like 3 or 4 years ago now lol) don't really have anything to link since that's just stuff I saw random people posting on twitter but shouldn't be hard to find anything if you search it, but right now it's just  so I didn't want to post any actual links.

So I read the first manga and here are my thoughts: It's super bittersweet even though as readers know all are aware that there's only one realistic kind of ending so yeah I don't know why they decided to focus on the story of the girl esp since that her ending epilogue was just and goes against the entire story. Really? It was so important you immediately forgot everything in 6 months and dated a co-worker? Then lost your virginity in 1 week. Thanks. I think the MC deserved much better and I wish he had that chance.

If anyone is looking for good ace representation I recc'd Our Dreams at Dusk: Shimanami Tasogare available on amazon. I felt like people just accepted one of the ace characters w/o being judgmental for no reason.

Finally got around to watching the Umibe no Etranger movie. Very good, if short. The fansubs were uh. Not that great. Way too literal. But the movie is still worth it. Extremely pretty too.

here's an interesting yt by a cdrama reviewer about some of the dialogue that got re-dubbed due to censorship. all of these scenes are really obvious in the show because the lips don't match and most of the replacement dialogue doesn't make sense, lol

that's a really interesting video, especially that they were really obvious about showing what was actually said by the actors so people would know. Was this the show that was also made for international release & not intended to be domestically broadcast so they had more leeway with what they could show? I remember reading about a show with a really low budget that had that situation but don't remember the title of it.
