The house my family moved into when I was 15 had an old upright piano in the basement that had been there for at least 25 years. It was too heavy and awkward to get it up the stairs so my mom hired some guys with sawzalls to come in and remove it. It was the most metal thing 15 year old me had ever seen.

Yeah but by the time someone gives it to you it needs all kinds of work. My childhood piano arrived with grand plans and by the time we parted ways in my late teens it sounded and felt all goofy and I'd only ever heard my babysitter play it shortly after we got it.

I don't know where it went but i struggle to think of what sort of person would buy a detuned and slightly beat up piano when you can probably keep your eye out and snag a working one at a good price within a year.

my dad bought a house that had one of those they had solid iron frames or something, I think the frame on it was warped but also most old pianos like that are essentially worthless now

is g-fuel the mountain dew one with the weird plastic pop top? that one was ok. for a long time mountain dew's various energy drinks were like $1.89 for 16 oz at the target near my apartment so we'd get them a lot, back when it was AMP i liked the cherry one because it was basically code red with more caffeine. they had one that was just regular mountain dew but with more caffeine too

anyway eventually they got replaced by some fruit punch and, uh yellow? flavor lol. they weren't terrible either but the price kept creeping up, then they introduced the weird "fuel can" top and it was over $2.50/can so i stopped buying it

no, that's mountain dew game fuel. g-fuel is an entirely independant company that makes some canned stuff, but is mostly known for powered mixes with interesting licenses. there's an official tetris g-fuel, for example, as well as multiple dbz ones.

oh huh, i had no idea. as you may be able to tell i've never bought one lol, but whenever i saw them i figured it was either some mountain dew or gatorade thing

e: just remembered that AMP had a uh, blue... flavor too lol. idk what it was supposed to be but it was pretty decent too, all of the flavors were tbh. even the one that was basically mountain dew with more caffeine

dad also had a broken undesirable edition of hammond electric organ, the last time i remember him playing that, i must have been less than 10 years old. and yeah nobody wants those things even for free, you’d have to pay someone to take it away. even the parts are worthless. i believe he gave it the sawzall treatment and worked the pieces into the regular household trash

this was the article that reminded me of ai pcs (again, lol): Microsoft Backing Out of Expensive New Data Centers After Its CEO Expressed Doubt About AI Value

now this is all speculation of course, but nobody other than nvidia seems to be making any money on AI and if they start backing out of more new datacenter builds maybe that will signal the end of this bullshit

i use win/meta to open the start menu/kde launcher rather than click it most times, because anything that keeps my hands on the keyboard is the best for me, and i'm rarely hunting through menus for poo poo. if i have an application i want to open, i know the name of it.
