I remember on the train from LA to Seattle for PAX back in like 2009 some rad people set up a wireless network out of the dining car with their tethered phones and just let us have at it. Felt very cool using my ~netbook~ to IRC with the friends I was meeting up with while playing Catan and DS games with dweebs on the train while going through beautiful PNW.
