Difficulty affects minimum stat rolls, roll ranges, rarity, as well as indirectly affecting drop frequency.

When an item drops and rolls for stats, there is a combined minimum stat quality for the item. The higher your base difficulty, the higher the minimum combined stat roll.

See I want to believe something like this, then I force myself through a Heroic bounty, and then I get an item this low, and get really upset.

Unless I'm misunderstanding something.

What's your global difficulty and did it drop from an enemy or did you get it from a crate?

Global difficulty is Challenging--I can breeze through that. But still, this is a Heroic bounty. What exactly takes priority? Global or Bounty?

Also, that dropped from one of the three bounty targets, directly.

Edit: And in case anyone wants validation: here's a clip of me killing them. We're in an enclosed room in a Heroic bounty. The drop you see on the right is the drop from my initial screenshot.

Heroic or even challenging, that's a BS drop.

I would really love more urban scavengy stuff truth be told. But everything that proports that is heavily PvP/competitive.

Tromping around apartments was some of the most fun I had in Div1 because it was immersive and nostalgic for me. If that was, say, an alternative to grinding bosses/supplement crafting mats in the long haul I'd do it as a relaxing walking (with sometimes shooting) simulator.

For those wanting some survability and play mostly solo, getting two pieces of Bellstone (1% armor regen per sec and 15% armor on kill) help a lot paired with gunner's 10% armor on kill. It's hard but with optimization you can get a bellstone with two red minors (CHC/CHD/HSD) so you can reroll the armor for 15% weapon damage.

I actually do that in tandem with Perfect Bloodsucker--which is a Belstone piece--on my Lady Death Hunter's Fury build, and it is really nice. I'm still generally squishy at first but after a couple kills i'm just running fearlessly from one mook to another while eating bullets. My second piece is a Belstone glove with increased CHD and Max weapon damage. it's so fun :getin:

It's not too difficult even on those later floors if you're geared decently. The whole mode is just a slog because it all looks the same. Good for grinding out gear though.

The very final battle can be a pain but it's not bad if you use a few tricks (bring a Scorpio).

I like the summit all the way up to the final battle because it's less of a battle of skill or even a gear check, and just testing how well you can look up ways to cheese it

Edit:

While the rest of Summit is a kind of bad but ultimately chill and relaxing game mode, level 100 is just utter poo poo.

Post below me reflects exactly how I feel. Putting on some tunes and murdering through the Summit isn't bad, albeit not very rewarding, but I can get into a groove at least.

Until 100.

Has anyone replayed Div1 recently? I daydream about it every so often because I feel like the setting hit better (being from NYC myself :shobon: ), and I'd like to be able to do a successful run of Survival one day. Does it hold up even just as a 'trudge around the street and shoot baddies' kinda game?
