It's another non-conforming two-episode block this.... 8-day period at the end of February and the start of March! Check this one out: This is the first February with 5 Saturdays since 1992. It is also the first time there has been a live show on Leap Day. And, considering the next time Saturday falls on Leap Day will be 2048, quite possibly the last time, too. And what a lineup for SNL's first Leap Show! Both host and musical guests, John Mulaney and David Byrne, are returning for their third gigs on the show. Byrne first with Talking Heads 41 years ago on February 10 1979, and last time solo on November 18 1989. Here he is, reflecting on ye olde shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tFAS8YdK-g And poo poo, John Mulaney, I don't care what some Debbie Downers say, I welcome the third installment of his grand post-WU musical homage sketch tonight. There was nary a stinker in either of his first two episodes, it's gonna be a good time tonight. Here are some promos! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f63BL6T0_kQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X0yPtEo2FDM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2k5s-B3IfQI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zChJbGRuE84 And next week, exiting 007 Daniel Craig and The Weeknd both return for their second turns at the show. Then the show is off for two weeks, and returns March 28th Tonight's Vintage is Alec Baldwin and Ed Sheeran from all of three years ago, February 11 2017.

I enjoy mulaneys personality and writing style so I enjoy his sketches a lot. Holy poo poo David Byrne pretending to be human in those bits. I love him so much.

Was hoping Mulaney would play Pete but at least we likely won't have to see Colin's terrible impression for too much longer.

Guest and Musical Guest are my only reason to tune into this tonight. Not a fan of the Bernie bashing but can't help the cast/crew are a lot of upperclass NYC folks.

Is it really bashing? Larry David's Bernie is more endearing and memorable than the other candidate portrayals and all the candidates except maybe Warren have had jokes made at their expense.

I feel like a lot of it is "Kooky Bernie" but I like the idea of taking it as endearing so I am going with that from now on and I thank you for it!

To me he's not really "kooky" it's more that he's just so plain compared to the rest. Like, he doesn't need a fancy web site with drop down menus and all kinds of other things, he needs a page with just "vote for Bernie" on it. Meanwhile I'm dying at this stand up. Edit: This child's dying wish is to meet Lin-Manuel Miranda and, failing that, John Mulaney. I just want to meet this child. Push El Burrito fucked around with this message at 05:48 on Mar 1, 2020 |

At least it's not Jimmy Fallon who was gunning for the role. Fallon played Pete in a skit on his show and gave him a gay lisp because Fallon's humor is still trapped in 1990s SNL.
