Well, I said that as soon as Bernie dropped out I'd post here, so here I am. Joe is a racist, war-monger, and rapist and he'll be the first democratic nominee to not get my vote in general. Bernie's cowardice might have robbed me of the opportunity to stand for something so I'll have to make do standing against something instead.

For all the things that are poo poo about my state I'm very glad we have open primaries so I never had to declare myself as a loving democrat.

Or I make just over the threshold for forgiveness so I still have to pay but my buddy who makes $500 a year less than me gets forgiveness? I guess they're would be a phase out to handle that. Maybe? Article paywalled so maybe there's more details, but this sounds like something that you say to win points but never actually bother to pursue. You don't have to worry about the details because they never intend on actually following through with any of these promises even if they are elected.

Joe is such an obviously doomed candidate that even huge libs are posting their one or two milquetoast disagreements with the campaign so in november they can shrug their shoulders and say "well i told ya so"

corgski posted:fair, I think we’re well past the point where “what will make 2021 suck less” is helpful, in fact I think it’s pretty drat shortsighted but yeah if you’re only looking at the next year and a half then voting Biden is a no-brainer because his administration will absolutely preserve the status quo of “sucks to be black/queer/muslim/destitute but if you’re white and working class you can go to brunch and pretend this is a democracy” instead of literally burning down the country like trump is doing. TBH I don't really buy the argument that Biden would be better even in the short term.
