It feels really not important right now but it's bullshit that Florida and Illinois still had their primary elections today. No one went to vote, no one is paying attention to that poo poo. what if we were right for once though.

the Great Panic was last Wednesday. on Tuesday I had a dozen people in real life tell me that it was fine if my fiancť traveled to London for two weeks. if I had listened to people here she wouldnít have gone. I spent $500 to get her out of there on Sunday to New York and got a free flight change back to Hawaii tomorrow. I should have listened to goons last week though and itís making me go crazy because if you listen to us all now I need to go get a gun.

Hawaiian airlines just said my fiance can't get on the plane home from JFK to HNL. She was in the UK yesterday, and they told her it is a new policy that you have to wait 14 days. American Airlines seems to not have this policy, at least the people on the phone don't think so. Fingers crossed.

I've been on hold for an hour with hawaiian while i called and got through to 2 other airlines. Alaskan was like "she could absolutely get on" but they only have 30 hour trips. American has a 15 hour one. Again, fingers crossed.

so people end up talking over each other, then try to awkwardly figure out who should speak first, then nobody talks after that unless they're specifically called upon because they don't want to deal with that hassle. The more people involved, the quieter it gets.

I've been doing videoconferencing every day multiple times a day for almost two years now and you get used to this really fast. The key phrase is "sorry go ahead" and whoever says it first gets to listen

nobody knows how to do this though because most presenters are boomers dialing in without the conference app.

in webex you usually need the most recent plugin which you can't upgrade to until after the meeting starts and you try to join so everyone just ends up dailing in since it is impossible to do anything else in time

they are :) I know that Hawaii hasn't really been hit by outbreaks, but they're older and while they're not in terrible shape, they're still midwesterners in their 60s so I worry. they've been home a week now; I think 5 days is median for symptoms showing so they're probably ok

yeah if itís been 5 days they are on the falling side of the curve.

we are starting to get outbreaks, but we are only at 17 confirmed as of noon today. they basically closed all tourism today too, itís going to get really rough, but at least we still have military money.
