it's baffling that computer companies repeatedly try to hide details of the file system from users, thinking it will somehow make things easier. it's always just more confusing

every time i see a UX push towards abstracting away the file system it�s like they wanted to stop users from finding files via �where are my files� and moving them towards �how do i find my files�

and they did the first part and then stopped there because the second part is hard
