yeah none of the other state shutdown orders have totally banned going outside so he's probably wrong about that. it should be safe to go outside as long as you stay away from other people, don't touch anything unnecessarily, and wash your hands when you get back inside. fresh air for the purpose of mental health is going to be important now that social lives are effectively banned

Is outdoor transmission to strangers even a significant mode of transmission?

not really. so far as we know the virus does not hang around in the air for very long after being sneezed or coughed out so as long as no one does either of those things directly at you you should be ok. the primary means of transmission is thought to be surface contact. hence the emphasis on washing your hands, not touching your face outdoors, and sneezing/coughing into your elbow, the most effective stifling maneuver

this does not stop me from being constantly anxious that I or my SO are not staying the recommended 6 feet from people when outside

or maybe it is corona?? also maybe alcohol withdrawals?

The four big tells of corona:

-fever
-coughing, especially extended or dry coughing
-shortness of breath
-chest pain

if you don't have most of these, you almost certainly do not have corona. sneezing, headaches, stuffy nose, a normal level of sporadic coughing, etc are not corona symptoms

either way, drink more alcohol

since like three years ago they've been telling me they were going to migrate me from a desktop machine to a laptop

one year ago I got tired of the waiting and started asking directly when they were going to do it

a month or two ago they finally actually gave me a laptop

I left it at the office the last time I was in. I've been working from home on my personal desktop

outlook not so good

I dunno, there's still a significant chance that the government fails to do anything for the common man or fails to do it in time and things get really, really bad. rent is due tomorrow for millions of people and small businesses and those stimulus checks are still weeks away just because of bureaucracy. if the entire wage slave class 100% implodes there's going to be a lot of anger and a lot of pressure and it will get even harder to claim the system is working and can recover

sometimes I'll put on a movie I've seen a million times before, so I don't actually have to pay attention to it but can tune in for the cool parts

mcu movies I would say are Actually Good:

captain america 2 and 3 (winter soldier/civil war)
guardians 1 and 2
black panther
ant-man 1 and 2
iron man 3 (a lot of people will disagree with me on this but whatever)
thor 3 (ragnarok)

infinity war and endgame are sort of in their own category because how much you will enjoy them depends entirely on how many of the lead-in movies you've watched

gently caress there are a lot of these, I can't even think of them all off the top of my head. and I never saw the spiderman movies

Considering how unhelpful the federal government has been during the pandemic and leaving some governors to their own devices, it would seem to me secession is more likely than it has been in the past BUT I don't ever see that happening. Especially not without bloodshed.

maybe not a loud, bloody secession but we're already seeing states band together through side channels to evade the feds when distributing medical supplies and that can't help national cohesion
