:qq::qq::qq:

Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is an anime hero collector gacha game. Somehow, in spite of it being an anime gacha, it is actually a good game.

PvE:
Story Mode - Your typical story mode based on the anime. Your first goal should always be to complete story. The story missions give large rewards, and are how you unlock many game features and daily quests. Some of the later story missions are quite challenging and will require specific strategies.

SP Dungeon: This is your typical resource grind. You use your keys to run the gold dungeon where you get treasure chests you can sell for gold, and orbs to run the event dungeon where you get gold/books/exp pots and medals used to evolve your units. Do not let these cap out, these resources are always needed. There is also an area you can use energy to farm books and exp pots. All 3 colored books and exp areas are always available, just scroll left/right to find them.

Boss Battles - Each chapter has a specific boss battle with 3 difficulty modes. This is where you can repeatedly farm chalice awakening materials and the 6th slot gear set piece of that respective chapter. Completing boss battles fills your death match percentage. Each time you complete a battle the percentage goes up, this is the chance you spawn the demon raid for that chapter. It takes somewhere between 1-7 battles to spawn a raid boss.

Co-op Raids - This is a 2 player mode each player brings a team of 3 and 1 substitute to fight a Demon boss. These all require specific strategies and units to complete on higher difficulties. Beating these grants you the materials to limit break your units past the level cap.

Red Demon - This boss is all about crowd control and locking him out of his turn. The strategy is to have enough units that can freeze / stun / petrify the boss so that he can take no actions. Each team typically consists of a buffer unit, a DPS unit, a CC unit, and a sub that provides a boost to your team.

DPS Units: SR Red Elizabeth-Hawk or SSR Blue Slader - either is good, but Elizabeth-Hawk is much cheaper to build.
Buffer Units - SR Green Gilthunder or SSR Green Helbram - Gilthunder is slightly better, but you can't use two of the same buffer unit so both are needed.
CC Units - SR Green Gustaf or SSR Green Merlin - either is good, but again, SRs are cheaper to build. Merlin does more damage and has more defense, but both of these are not particularly important for the CC unit.
Sub/4th Slot - SR Green Cain - When you unlock his passive, he provides a 10% increase attack related stats on your team.

Grey Demon - WIP

PVP:
There are two types of PvP - Geared and Gearless.

Gearless PvP - When you start you only have access to this mode. Your equipped gear has no impact in this mode, but costume based bonuses *DO* apply. Everything else still applies - awakening, associations, level, food, etc. Some gimmick characters are less viable in this mode if they heavily demand on gear to get a specific substat for their gimmick to work.

Geared PvP - This unlocks when you Gold 5 rank. It's just like the previous mode, except now your gear does matter.

General Tips:

Priority list for what you should be doing:
1. Finish story, or get as far as you can.
2. Build up an Autobattle PvE team for farming
3. Build up a team for Red Demon
4. Farm gear
5. Build up a team for Grey Demon
6. Build up a PvP team

Rerolling:
Don't bother. Seriously, don't. If you have to, anything with 2 SSRs where one of them is Red Howzer, Green Skinny King, Red Arthur, or Green Meliodas. Don't reroll, just play. This is a marathon, having 1 specific unit doesn't mean much of anything in the grand scheme of all the game modes you need specific units for.

Tier lists:
This is a game where specific units shine for specific content. Most units are not good when used outside of their area of specialty. Many very low ranked characters are absolute gods at specific tasks. In general, most tier lists you see are ranking characters that are good at more than 1 task very high. There are only a handful of units that are good in several game modes. At release the free SSR Blue King from story is useful at almost everything, and the SR Green Gilthunder is useful at buffing in all raids and for his passive on PvP teams. Other than this, the rest of the units are typically only good in one area.

Autobattle PvE farming teams:
I recommend you build a team of SR Green Elizabeth-Hawk, SSR Red Howzer, and SR Blue Weinheidt. This is the best autofarm PvE team at the moment. There are other units that can work, but
Once you can beat Extreme Boss battles on Auto you can move on to something else.

Knighthoods - "Knighthoods" are guilds. These unlock after beating Chapter 6. I've setup a Knighthood "Goonsquad". Apply in-game and update this sheet with your name, friend code, and indicate you are looking to join.

Detailed Gear Guide

Assuming you are a completely new player, follow these steps in order. We constantly get the same questions about gear in the Discord and guild chat. Please read this guide first. 99% of your questions should be covered by this. I'm aiming this guide for new players. There are some exceptions for specific units - If you are a new player, just pretend these don't exist for now. Follow this guide and you will do just fine.

1. You will be using either 4 attack + defense set on your first team of 4 characters, or 3 attack + defense sets and 1 HP + defense set. Do whichever you want, this is not an important choice.

2. Until step X, all the gear on the LEFT side of your character's equipment will be whatever you have in that set. Enhance it to +5, but do not bother awakening it.

People always ask: "What is 'left side" gear and what is 'right side' gear?" This should be obvious, but here is a picture showing you.

3. For the gear on the RIGHT side of your character's equipment, buy COMMON gear from the merchants in Chapter's 1-3. CH1 = ATK, CH2 = DEF, CH3 = HP.

Example: Buying right side common attack gear from Chapter 1:

4* = Since you need 4 pieces of gear for an ATK or HP set, and 2 pieces of gear for a DEF set, the question is what slots should belong to which set? In general, this doesn't matter. However, I would recommend your MIDDLE ROW be the 2 set piece. Middle row pieces are both farmable, and virtually every character wants the same substats on middle row gear, regardless of who they are and what gimmicks they possess.
*There are some character's much later who might want to swap top row gear with each other, because they both want the same niche substats on their gear, but we are a long time away from that and that discussion is for advanced corner cases, not a newbie guide.

People always ask, "what do you mean by TOP/MIDDLE/BOTTOM row gear?" Here is an example of a 4 piece ATK set using the top and bottom row, and a 2 piece DEF set using the middle row.

5. After you have your miscellaneous left side gear and common store bought right side gear, it is time to start building up your right side common gear first. We are building common right side gear for two reasons: Common gear is super cheap to build and re-roll, common gear provides the same substat roll ranges as SSR gear, and finally because right side gear's MAIN stat values are much lower than left side gear.

Left side gear has much higher main stat values than right side gear. Here is an example of the differences in the possible main stat comparing left side gear and right side gear in the top row:

The bottom line is using max ascended common right side gear provides you with a lot of power very quickly and for minimal cost. You eventually replace it, but you will be using it for a long time. The amount of resources you spent on it is so small that it doesn't matter that it eventually gets replaced.

6. To build your common right side gear, enhance it to +5, then awaken it. Each time you awaken it the gear goes back to +0, gains a star, and gains a random substat.

Here is me in the process of upgrading a common health set ring:

As you can see, it has random substats. We are building a non-specialized set. There is only one substat we want on each row of gear.
Top row = Attack
Middle row = Defense
Bottom row = HP.

For middle and bottom row gear, there is no reason I can think of why you would ever want anything other than DEF or HP substat rolls. Maybe, there is some corner case, but that isn't relevant to a newbie guide.
For top row gear, there will be cases where instead of attack you may want pierce, crit chance %, or crit dmg % instead. For your initial common sets, just stick with attack. We want these to be general use. Don't try to overthink this at this point, just go with attack % substat rolls.

6. After or during you max awakening your common gear, you will want to reroll the substat to the desirable stat for that row (see above).

How to reroll one of the stats:

Rerolling a substat:

Rerolling the main stat:

Common health set ring after you've finished rolling the main stat and substat:

Feel free to reroll the attack substats to something above 2.0% each. I would keep anything above 2.0%.

"Hey Mugaaz, I got a max pierce roll when I was trying to reroll attack, should I keep it?" - Probably not. It might be better on some specific characters, but it doesn't matter at this point.

7. At this point, everyone on your main team should have 5* / + 0 right side common gear. Your left side gear will be a mish-mash of random SSR/SR/R gear at 0* / +5. It is finally time to start farming good SSR gear for your left side. Each set is farmable in its respective chapter. You have to raise your village friendship level to 5 hearts. At this point you will unlock hard mode free missions, and a series of repeatable quests that reward you with 1 piece of SSR gear for clearing a hard free mission stage 8 times. Each quest and stage drops one specific piece of the set. I strongly, strongly recommend you *always* do the SSR gear repeatable quest instead of farming one specific stage for a specific piece. You may only want one specific piece, but there are several reasons it is better to just do these quests instead.

1. It guarantees 1 SSR piece every 8 runs. The normal drop rate is only 3%, this is a significant boost.
2. You are going to need truckloads and truckloads of gear to dismantle for the resources to upgrade your gear. Dismantling SSR gear is lucrative.
3. It rewards you with 8000 gold. This isn't a huge amount, but considering how much gear you will need to farm it is going to add up to several million.
4. Different free stages drop awakening materials for your characters. You're going to need these materials eventually, so you may as well be farming all the awakening materials you need passively while you get this gear instead of target farming.

8. You've now farmed a large amount of SSR gear. However, if you click on change stats, you will notice 95% of your SSR gear has a main stat roll that is really low. If you try to reroll that main stat, you will notice it costs DIAMONDS. You can't even use anvils to reroll the main stat. Bottom line, any piece of SSR gear with a main stat roll that isn't 90% of the maximum or higher is trash and should be broken down. Don't get impatient hear. If you need interim gear, use badly rolled main stat SSR gear enhanced up to +5, but don't awaken it. Do not awaken SSR gear with a bad main stat roll, Do not awaken SSR gear with a bad main stat roll, Do not awaken SSR gear with a bad main stat roll.

You will notice when you awaken your SSR gear, you will frequently get an undesirable sub stat. When you try to reroll that substat, you will notice it costs diamonds or anvils. Do not reroll these substats with diamonds unless you're whaling on this game and spending more than a couple hundred dollars a month. Instead, you will use anvils. Right now, we can only get anvils from the gear gacha and from PvP. You can't get a significant amount from either. We will eventually get a new feature called the training cave where we get much more of these. Until then, just live with it that your substat rolls on SSR gear will likely be bad.

9. Dismantling gear for enhancement stones and awakening stones So after looking at all the gear you farmed. You will notice almost all of is bad and should be dismantled. Before you dismantle your SSR and SR gear, enhance it to +1 first. This will give you a better chance at getting awakening material. Don't enhance it past +1, while it does increase the chances, it costs too much for that small bump it gives. You don't have enough gold to waste on this early or mid game. Late game, it is better to spend your excess gold on the gear gacha trying to get anvils.

If you really want to be a tryhard poopsocker, you can upgrade your R gear to +1 as well. It is barely worth doing, but takes forever. I don't think it is worth your time, but it isn't bad.

After dismantling the gear, you probably will get mostly 3* and 4* awakening stones. You will need to go to King to exchange these upward for 4* and then 5* awakening stones.

10. After a whole lotta farming your main team's gear should look something like this:

If you look at these pictures you will notice the SSR gear is at 3* / +5. I recommend you temporarily stop here. Why? Because the amount of resources need to get to 3* / +5 is minimal when compared to 5* / +5. Once you have your main team of 4 at 3* / +5, I recommend you start another batch of 4 sets. Thee sets are going to be used on the companion units your main team is using, so that you have a total of 8 sets. I would recommend you have either 4 attack/def + 4hp/def sets, or 5 attack/def + 3hp/def sets. Kinda depends on what units you have. Against, this is not a super important decision, just pick one.

11. At this point you now have 8 sets of left side SSR gear at 3* / +5, and 8 sets of right side common gear at 5* / +0. Now go ahead and continue upgrading the left side SSR gear for you main teams to 5 * / + 5. I would do top row first, then bottom row, then middle. Just my personal opinion here, feel free to deviate.

12. After your main team's left SSR gear is maxed out, you should probably next max out the left SSR gear for your companion units. I think this is debatable though, feel free to skip this step for now.

13. Now you've finally reached the point you are going to be swapping out your common right side gear for SSR gear on your main team. I would go ahead and take your main team to 5* / +5 before starting on the right side gear for your companion units. The reason I say that is because the boost is so minimal that you may as well focus it.

14. Finish fully upgrading your 8 sets of SSR gear for both left and right side.

15. Start building niche sets with niche substat rolls for specific characters.

16. Eventually we will get the ability to upgrade SSR gear that is 5* / + 5 to UR gear. You keep the sub stat rolls from the piece you upgrade. You never have your SSR gear invalidated because it is what is needed for the UR gear.

Guide for leveling ultimates

SSR Ultimates

Don't do this, regardless of which character it is, unless you're spending a considerable amount of money on this game. SSR/Platinum coins are just too valuable a resource to spend on leveling SSR ultimates. If you're spending $100-200 a month on this game, then you will have enough platinum coins where you can consider spending on SSR ultimates. Otherwise, you are going to need every single one of these coins to buy Platinum coin shop units.

If you are spending coins on SSR ultimates, the reasons you should do so is because that character's ultimate is both really good, and scales really well with ultimate level. For example, Blue King's ultimate not only does a lot of damage, it also AoE, and it also scales very highly with additional levels. His ultimate is critical to his overall kit in PvP. In comparison, Coin Shop Ban's ultimate has relatively low damage, is single target, and doesn't scale very well with additional level. Leveling Coin Shop Ban's ultimate is mostly a waste.

There are two other reasons you would level a good char with a bad ultimate.
1. It provides a minimal amount of additional combat class. This is super ultra whale territory and only relevant in the top 0.1% of PvP so you can act first.
2. SSR base characters have moderately higher base stats than SR characters. This means they provide slightly more stats as a sub/companion unit. The % of their own stats they contribute to a main unit corresponds with their ultimate level. Normally characters gives 5% of their stats to the main unit, but this goes up by 1% per ultimate level as you rank up, capping at 10% with max ultimate level. So a maxed out sub SSR unit with say 12,000 attack ( a realistic number ) could provide between 600-1200 attack to a main unit depending on their ultimate level. This is super whale territory for SSR units, but it is absolutely vital for SR units, even for F2P, as you will see below.

SR Ultimates

This is a completely different story than SSR ultimates. SR/Gold coins are certainly valuable, but you get a lot more of them and the units you can buy with them aren't quite as strong. As I stated above in the SSR section, a sub unit's ultimate level determines what % of their stats they can contribute to the main unit. This range is is 5-10% for level 1-6 ultimate level. If you have main characters that are going to be relevant for a long time, you will want to build up a sub unit specifically for them - solely for the stats they can contribute to the main unit.

For instance, all the Elizabeth-Hawks in the game have a good companion bonus with Meliodus. He provides an association that also gives an additional +280 attack. Since most of us are not whales, only the SR Blue Meliodas is a viable companion unit for Elihawk. You will eventually want to build him out, max him out, and max his ultimate...just so he can give those stats as a sub unit to Red/Green/Blue Elizabeth-Hawk.

Which sub units are worth building for which main units? This is completely character link dependent. You can see those relationships here, click on a specific character to check their relationships:
https://www.sdsgc.gg/characters

When looking at options you will notice there are two types of links - Combination Attacks and Associations.

Associations are simple, they provide an additional flat amount of a specific stat when used as a sub unit. You may have an association that gives something like +290 attack or +280 def. In the previous example SR Blue Meliodas is an association with Elizabeth-Hawk and gives an additional 280 attack, an important stat to a damage dealer. These association stats are an additional flat amount added before % bonuses from gear to the main unit.

Combination attacks are just like associations, but they also improve the damage of the main units Ultimate ability and change the animation. Typically, these are better than associations, but not always. If the main character's ultimate is not important to their kit, then it doesn't make much of a difference if it does slightly more damage. For main character's with bad/unimportant ultimate abilities, you may prefer an association sub unit that provides a more desirable main stat instead.

There are some really useful SR characters that provide a really good passive ability, but have an ultimate that is utterly useless. Don't raise their ultimate ability. We are not leveling ultimate abilities because a character is good. We are raising ultimate abilities because we want them as a sub unit for someone else, or because they themselves are a good main unit with a really good ultimate ability. Green / Red Elizabeth-Hawk is a good character, with a good ultimate ability, AND she is also a good sub unit for many other good characters. This is an excellent use case for leveling an ultimate. Cain is a really good main unit, but only in the 4th slot to get his passive ability in Death match. He has a bad ultimate abiliuty, and he is not a good sub unit for any other good character. This is a horrible use of gold coins.

Cosmetics Guide:

SSR/UR cosmetic stats in this game ARE relevant. Generally, all UR cosmetics are just better than SSR. A few characters with a hard niche in a specific substat might prefer an SSR weapon with that substat over a UR weapon without it.

You can own as many cosmetics as you want, but you can only beneft from 5 pieces per type. If you have a Howzer with 8 weapons, 3 armors, and 12 head options; then the he would get the stats from 5 weapons, 3 armors, and 5 of the head options. In that characters cosmetic tab, any gear that is "registered" will be the cosmetic gear stats that you are benefiting from. Registered gear will be on a small coat-hanger in the cosmetic screen. You can equip a registered OR non-registered gear, and that will be piece that is actually visually represented on their model. You can use a cosmetic piece for the look without using it for the stats by equipping it and not registering it.

All versions of a char can share cosmetics, but some characters have multiple versions. Red/Green/Blue Lizhawk can all use the same pool of cosmetics, but they don't share cosmetics with the different versions of Elizabeth. Meliodas doesn't share cosmetics with Demon Meliodas, Skinny King doesn't share with Fat King, etc.

Sources of cosmetics:
Pop-up Shop - The pop-up shop sells cosmetics, most cost gold, but the higher rarity options cost diamonds.
Affinity - Maxing out a character's affinity will reward you with a head piece cosmetic.
PvP Shop - After hitting Master rank in PvP, you can buy weapon cosmetics with PvP coins.
Evoluton - Each evolution of a character up to level the level 60 version rewards you with cosmetics. Eventually. you may want to UR some garbage SSR character versions, just to unlock those cosmetics for the good version of that character. Don't do this early, the medals are too valuable.
Sacred Treasure shop - All of these cost diamonds
EVENT / Time-Limited Sacred Treasure shop - There are TIME-LIMITED cosmetics that are only temporarily available in the shop. Some of these have never come back in the JP version. Initially, they will available for 2 weeks and only for real money. This costs $40 for 50 diamonds + 3 UR pieces. This price is absurd for most. However, if you're already buying all the weekly/monthly subscriptions, then this is actually the best real-life money purchase available after that. You're spending $40 for 140 diamonds worth (30x3 + 50), so this is about half as good as the subscription bundles, meaning the subscriptions give you twice the return of diamonds per dollar..

After the two week period, these items are available for another two weeks for normal diamond costs, then they are gone forever (or until they re-run that event)

Which cosmetics should you buy?
This is mostly opinion based, but here is my recommendation:

1 - For the most part, any non UR rarity cosmetics that cost diamonds are never worth buying UNLESS that character has very few cosmetics and are incapable of registering 5 total pieces of that cosmetic slot without buying a SSR pieces for diamonds. Since you can only register 5 cosmetics of a specific type, there is no point in buying SSR cosmetic piece for stats when that character already has 5 UR options available. Keep in mind, more cosmetics get added over time, so even if they're lacking in options now they may get some added later.
2. If a character is used extensively in multiple game modes, or if that character version has multiple color options that are used in different game modes, then the value of their cosmetics goes up. Lizhawk has 3 versions of herself that are all great in different game modes, so you're getting way more bang for your buck that way. Gilthunder only has one version of any value (Green), but that version is used in many different places. Again, when you get to use them often they are providing a better return on investment than someone who only has one good version that is used only on a specific boss and nowhere else.
3. Even when a character meets all of the criteria above, keep in mind that some characters only really need weapons and nothing else. For exampl,. Green Jericho is the only good version of her, and she is only really good due to her ultimate damage on the Guild Boss. You may want her UR weapon cosmetics, but increasing her HP and defense via body/head cosmetics really doesn't make much of a difference for her job in Guild boss. For characters like this, wait until their event gear is purchasable with diamonds, and then buy only their weapon. Some characters make the decision a bit more confusing. Green Gilthunder's damage is horrible, except for his Ultimate. However, for both Death Match and PvP, you REALLY want to have enough Combat Class to go first. Having good cosmetics can provide significant CC. Is that important enough to be worth spending diamonds on? Up to you.

I am F2P, should I be buying cosmetics with diamonds?
For some characters, absolutely yes. For characters like CS Gowther or Blue Skinny King, I think these are absolutely worthwhile. For characters like Green Gilthunder/Jericho? Borderline, I'd still lean towards yet, but this is far more debatable. If you have a specific PvP team you are confident is going to be viable for a long time, then all their cosmetics would be worth getting.

If you're talking about Blue Skinny King, both ATK/DEF and HP/DEF are good. HP/DEF is slightly better, because most of the time all you really want is for King not to die so he can continue healing and petrifying.

You run boss battles under battle > boss battles. Each time you clear one you get an increasing chance of spawning the Death Match for that chapter.

Yea I installed the latest bluestacks, and it crashes as soon as the netmarble logo comes up. Arknights as the exactly same problem. I installed a bunch of other games like Raid and Rise of nations and Langresser and they all worked fine.

I'm playing on newest Bluestacks right now. Been playing for hours with no crash.

Yeah same here

I was able to load it with no changes. My system is pretty beefy though so I was able to increase everything.

Edit: it also runs on my MBP with the default settings.

You run boss battles under battle > boss battles. Each time you clear one you get an increasing chance of spawning the Death Match for that chapter.

Once per day, per chapter. So you can run 6 of your OWN demons per day. You can run infinite amount of Demon's your invited to.

So we should be blowing through the story and not worrying about village quests and such?

You can go back and do the villages at any point for the diamonds, going through story unlocks a bunch more activities and units, I would definitely recommend prioritizing that first

Blow through story until you hit a roadblock then do that stuff and grind to power up, repeat.

The village quests also award 30 gems for completion, so it is definitely worth completing them after the story.

Yeah I kind of regret focusing on the villages early on, I'm way further back in the story than I thought I was. Trying to blitz through now to get to Knighthoods or guilds or whatever.

So do you want to spread out enhanced equipment or buff one piece high on everyone or what? I'm afraid resources will be scarce and I'm already running low on coin. I had bought some bundle a while back that gave me 3million and I'm already down under 400k.

With daily and free chests plus the veronica sell boost, I can net 1.2 to 2 mil gold a day. Gold is definitely the resource wall though.

I've been doing one unit at a time and just ranking up all their right gear in one go (So like, adding a single star to each right equip on a unit, if I have gold left over, do another). Seems to be OK so far.

Those last few fights in Chapter 6 do not mess around. The last 4 fights took me 4-8 tries each to get lucky enough to counter at the right times, or have Ban's ult removal skill around when I needed it.

Edit: Applied to Knighthood

Get the common right side gear to 5* +0 with all substats rerolled before starting SSR gear.
For SSR gear, I'd do top left piece first, but youll probably keep the pieces even due to the roadblock with SSR awakening stones.

Should I bother with R gear or just focus on the SR stuff I’ve got?

I found SR gear to be temporary. I only leveled my left side SR pieces to +5 (no awakening) and focused on fully awakening and optimizing the C gear on the right side while going through the story. That was good enough to finish chapter 6 with a CC of around 88k near the end.

After some grinding, I've now fully filled out my left side with +5 SSR gear and am starting to slowly awaken them. No rerolling of substats yet because that costs gems. What I don't know is when to start replacing my fully awakened right-side C gear to SSR. I need to compare their stats to see the break-even point.

You should not be using SR or R gear, read the OP section I wrote on gear.

To be clear, to help with leveling you should equip whatever SR or R gear you pick up in the early stages on the left hand side, especially to make 4 atk/2 def set bonuses. Just don't buy any, or enhance it, and definitely don't awaken it.

Don't use SR or R gear on the right side ever. You can buy C gear very easily and get busy enhancing/awakening it.

Veronica sell boost? What the gently caress is that?

Also, I've been doing equipment ALL WRONG. I've just been doing Auto-Equip and boosting whatever the game gives me. Whoops.

Go in your tavern. Next to the exit door there is a guestbook. If you click on it you'll be able to invite guests. One of the option is to invite Veronica to your tavern. Its free the first time you invite her everyday. After you've invited her, trigger a loading screen, like going to another town. Come back to your tavern. She'll be sitting at one of the tables. Talk to her and give her the food she's requesting as a gift. You might need to cook it first with Ban. She'll give you a buff that gives you 20% additional gold when selling stuff in town. You should only be selling the gold chests you have while this buff is active. Also note that the buff only works when selling to the shopkeepers in a town. It doesn't apply if you're selling from your inventory UI.

This is all the gear and gold poo poo I wish I would have known a week ago but oh well, better late than never.

Once I finally beat that last Hendrickson fight (yes, the ACTUAL last one) I’ll apply to the knighthood.
