My therapist told me today I should quit my job because the stress is literally making me dissociate more than I already do.

Looking like Tokyo and Osaka are going into lockdown soon. Lots of places are shuttering. I came into work today and my boss was like "You aren't scheduled to be here until the 14th." So that's neat. Now I have time to take care of tax stuff and clean my apartment. Also cook. I'm thinking I should order a case of craft beer from a local store tonight.

I went by work today to take care of something and they're closing as of today. The had to throw out a case of eggs so I left with a bunch. Thing is...I bought eggs the day before yesterday. I guess I'll be living off of omelettes now...

Japan is in lockdown kind of, and I don't have work until who knows? I'm getting paid this month but possibly not the next. I have savings but... also kind of worried what this might mean for getting our license for brewing, and beyond that being able to order materials and supplies. Ah life.

I've pretty much given up on buying any masks. The only shops I could find selling them were little locally run places selling at crazy mark-ups (3400 yen for a box of 50). All drug stores, convenience stores, and grocery stores are sold out. I guess I'll have to wait for the two masks that Shinzo Abe promised everyone.

I still just think it's funny that the prime minister was like, "I know there's a mask shortage, so the government will soon be supplying everyone with them." Which later came to be two masks per person.

I've given up on finding masks. Yesterday I had to hit a cash machine and mail something. I swung by every convenience store between there and the grocery store while reloading a link on the Sharp website for masks. The link was getting slammed and everywhere was sold out. Limiting my time out of my apartment is probably more effective anyways.
I'm telling everyone who provides me service to stay safe from the other side of a plastic sheet. The old ladies at the post office seemed very happy with that. I still got it.

This is one area where I am fortunate, as our management is firm in the belief that staff must be protected, so we have some masks and I snagged a box of gloves for the regular bleach cleaning I'm doing in the office common areas.
I'm also on paid leave so I'm okay there.
Just waiting for my two masks the prime minister promised to everyone.

I biked from north to south Osaka today to get a growler fill at a favorite craft beer bar and bought some bottles at another place to help support local businesses. I wore a mask. Also made some online purchases.

Since we folk may be stuck inside, I encourage you to take and share photos next time! My bike is 4 hours away at the moment, so I rented a bike yesterday to pick up meds and wore vinyl gloves. I did not eat the gloves afterwards, because they were gross from the community handles.
It wasn't a very pretty ride. Mostly urban and getting from point a to point b.

I don't think testing is available. Or at least not openly. I think you need to get a referral from a doctor, but they've been instructed to not refer those who aren't at risk. I'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow. It may also be from exhaustion and stuff. I had a sports drink and I'm going to bed. If things worsen tomorrow I'll ask around and see what my options are.
