Did you not see The Good Dinosaur?

Aw, come on, it wasn't terrible. TGD at least stuck to one of the main tenets of good Pixar films: Showing off the capabilities of next-gen rendering/effects poo poo that the less flashy half of the company is devoted to creating. The realistic environments were loving gorgeous in that flick and the story and characters dovetailed nicely with them.

I thought TGD was a simple, completely competent, forgettable film that got a bad rap based on what it's compared to. Onward doesn't do anything new with either visuals or storytelling and completely whiffs bigtime in world-building (which was fertile ground and should have been a big strength). I imagine there are at least a couple executives secretly thankful for the coronavirus theater shutdowns being a profitability smokescreen that saved their jobs.

Cars 2 is better than the Bad Dinosaur. Cars 3 is not technically a movie. It resembles a movie, but it's actually just deleted footage from all the other Cars movies spliced into a single video file and then accidentally released to the public.

Every Cars film is a snide vat-grown advertisement targeted at the worst child you know. The entire IP is the result of Carter Burke locking Lasseter and Stanton in a Cracker Barrel and secretly releasing Disney executives while they slept, but having the forethought to disable the sprinklers first.
