If she sends you a text asking you to do stuff then make sure to say yes. You just need to hit rank 5 before reaching the present day so it should not be an issue.

She's located in Kichijoji once that opens up. She doesn't have a ton of interaction opportunities, but also she's super easy to get to Rank 5, I did it before summer break.

So I went back and did the guide that told you to reload from crafting bonus.

Instead of crafting 1 at a time I did the max at a time instead. At first it said I made two. Then next Morgana had a dialogue saying I did extra special and a bonus one popped. With save / reload this took 3 minutes (I used a stopwatch.) I'm not sure if I just got really lucky or if I was doing it wrong before.

Hope this helps anyone.

So, here's a PSA for everyone about the jazz club (mechanical spoilers only): on Sunday nights, if you take a party member there they'll learn specific skills. It's not like the bike dates from Golden, because the skills are specific to each Sunday, not each party member. It's not a great system IMO because unless you check every single Sunday you're gonna miss useful skills, and if you haven't played before you're not going to know who you want to give each skill. Also, it being on Sunday nights means you have to miss out on Tora, the best Confidant in the game, so that sucks.

Anyway, in vanilla P5, Yusuke was unfortunately kind of useless in the endgame because Ryuji learned Charge and he did not. So, I'm telling you now: on September 4th, if you take a party member to the jazz club, they will learn Charge. There's no reason to give it to anyone other than Yusuke unless you want Ryuji to learn it much earlier, I guess. I went into Mementos today to test out a Baton Pass-boosted Charged Rising Slash now that I have it. Instead, Yusuke and Ryuji's Showtime procced on the turn I was going to use it. Here are the results:

:stare:

e: also worth noting that the skill you get on 9/25 is apparently Concentrate, in case you want to slap that on Makoto and make her even more broken.

Now that you mentioned it I can hear the similarities between Akechi and Hubert. Also don't forget that Makoto is Rhea.

I learned real quick how technical damage can save your rear end. Gonna need to look into it more so I can utilize it more

I'm doing Merciless and Dormina has like an insanely high success rate, and so any enemy that doesn't have a weakness gets put to sleep and slammed with an instakill Technical Lunge. Technicals are incredibly useful on Merciless.

Also with all the care that went into this game and how conscience they are of the vanilla game's problem, the 120% buff to yen and EXP gain makes sense. Some bosses are just straight-up level gates who you have no choice but to grind to beat (you NEEDED media for Kamoshida in vanilla), and they realized that everyone was just playing Merciless the exact same way: grind for enough money for an SP patch on the first trip, come back when you have one so you can infinitely grind EXP against Beriths, get level 11, fight boss. That wasn't a fun way to play the game, but it was really the only thing you could do, so they just scrapped it. Which, good. This is much more fun. The fact that things aren't so punishing actually means I'm grinding less

I beat Kamoshida at 6 on Merciless in vanilla before I knew to save resources / grind the red spawn. Media wasn't required.

Even after nearly platinuming vanilla P5, I feel like I'm screwing P5R up hard. I completely blanked on how important guts was early game. I'm already two and a hlaf weeks behind on starting Kamikawa and nowhere close to starting Gun Dad, and I'm about to start the ramp up into the third palace. So, I've already probably lost two or three opportunities for Slack Off in class and missed a good two or three nights for confidants.

Having extra time at the end-game probably saves the run, but I'm still kind of miffed. That said, I love all the updates. It is way more refreshing than P4G was.

Feeling good about starting my game over to get back on the guide. Most annoying part so far was 15 minutes it took to get a chalk dodge. Otherwise the other reloads have been fairly short. One crafting reload took a bit because of PSN error's due to sharing an account but that wasn't really the games fault.

My only regret playing P5R is that I already played P5. As in certain plot beats which are handled better in Royal lose some of the impact with me already knowing how certain things will turn out.

e: I absolutely love the small details of this game, not just Royal but even in vanilla. In the Yusuke social link you see some of his paintings and drawings and they all have a consistency to them. When you first meet Yusuke in the museum, even before you learn about Madarame's palace, the painting that Ann really likes is really obviously Yusuke's - it matches the style of the ones you see later. This is something you'd basically only ever notice in a second playthrough because you only see that painting for just a second.

I can't figure out how to get Insta-Killl the Ryuji level 7 ability to work. I try sprinting into blue shadows and it doesn't do anything and If I hit the X button to grab them it doesn't insta kill them either. Do they need to be even lower level than just blue?

Is it different than the base game? It was a mementos-only ability, you sneak up behind enemies with the van and ram them for the insta-kill

There's a level below blue, yes. If they're green when you use Third Eye, Insta-kill will activate.

Welp the real hurdle for me in that guide was darts. I needed to get at least one triple 20 in 1 round, and then some other triple 20's in order to get 3 notes and level up my proficiency to level 3. Took about an hour. The third note comes afterwards as a bonus and I think at least once I didn't realize this and restarted before it would be awarded. For anyone doing darts the game tells you to flick the controller to throw but this is a trap. Just hit the X button instead. Also a mechanics spoiler: in the 4th round if your score is low enough you can encourage a party member and if you say the right thing they automatically win. Each character has a specific thing to say to them and just look it up online.

I think the main thing I don't like about this version is the goddamn added phone calls. P5 already had bad pacing and this just drags each confidant event out long enough to make it really annoying. There's bonus affinity points sure but has the affinity balance been adjusted to compensate? Because if so it's just another chance to gently caress up and lose pace on a social link.
